Kakashi Hatake
[Late Arrival]

Card Number: 109
Rarity - R

Review Date: 12.19.06

Average Card Rating: 2

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

Playdoh Dude Kakashi Hatake [Late Arrival]

Everyone loves Kakashi right? Yep, I haven't met one person who views Kakashi as an arrogant jerk, the doctor from house, or that chef from Iron Wok Jan. Anyway, I'm viewing one of Kakashi's less popular forms today. He comes in on Turn 4 with a 6/3, which is godly. He's also Jonin, very useful, and fire with Sharingan, very useful also.

Wait what's this? CAN'T ATTACK UNTIL YOUR NEXT TURN? Basically, you're losing all thgat curve you might have had, just to drop Kakashi on Turn 4.
And even the vanilla version is Turn 4, and is much more useful. They may has well gotten rid of his effect and given him a hand cost. Even then he would be more useful.

CONSTRUCTED: I know people hate it when we compare cards to other versions of teh character, but ES, Vanilla, and Copy NInja are much better choices than this guy. He may have godly stats, but losing the curve is like going through hell. 1/5
LIMITED: Rare? Please, Baki and Hayate are much better Rare cards. I'd rather pull one of them than a playset of this guy. 2/5.
ART: Pretty good. I love this chapter of the manga, where Sasuke and Kakashi emerge with leaves all around them. Once Reason for Late Arrival Sasuke comes out, I'll put these guys side by side and they'll look sweet. 4/5.
OVERALL: 1.5/5
PLAYDOHDUDE

the bogosian explosion

Sorry Pojo goers, I been really slackin and Im sorry for all of you who look up to me as a positive role model.....PFFT! Am I kidding yuo just love to hear me rant dont you? Well ok just this once I suppose.

Late Arrival Kakashi, kinda like my late arrival into the reviews. He like the vanilla Kakashi is very spashable. However often times you need to use that turn four ninja to put the hurt on your opponent, and by the time you have him on for a turn it is too late and your facing down the barrel of a 13 point team or something like that.

Bottom line....run vanilla, if your out of vanilla.....then get a starter or just run this.

constucted: 2/5

Limited: 3/5

Silas

Believe it or not, rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. More like a very slow death by exam, really. Well, I've miraculously passed everything (even, gasp, Calculus I), and will now return to passing judgment on Play-Doh-san's cards of choice.

Kakashi Hatake (FIRE)
Leaf | Jonin | Male | Sharingan Eye
Turn Cost: 4, Entrance Cost: 0
6/3, 5/2 Injured

[Late Arrival]
Valid: This ninja can neither be included in any
teams or be sent into battle the turn it is played.

Pros:
- Kakashi, and all that that entails (stats, fire, etc.)
- One turn early with full stats.

Cons:
- (Valid) Ability.
- Takes up a Kakashi slot.

The pros on this one are mostly self-explanatory. The stats speak for themselves, as does his Fire affinity, Jonin status, and ability to use PtH Sharingan. Card advantage (and skill) win games, no exception.

Now the bad part here is that you can't even use him for much the turn you drop him. We had a huge argument about this card on the Bandai forums when Curse was released, and the general consensus was that you really don't want to use him, especially with Copy Ninja, Early Settlement, and even Confidence in Suboordinates running around out there. The loss in advantage just isn't worth it.

The only potential I see here is this: if you're not in too bad a situation, dropping him on turn four can lead to huge advantage on turn 5, when you're not wasting your drop on Kakashi. (Wasting. Hah.) Being able to throw out a full-stat

Kakashi, along with a Zabuza or Baki the next turn is great. But unfortunately, drawing this card when you're NOT in a great situation is horrible, and that's not a risk I'm willing to take.

Yet another "use it until you get something better" for beginners and those who don't have access to a lot of cards.

Constructed: 2.5/5 -> See above.
Limited: 3/5 -> It's still Kakashi. And we all know that you're just supposed to draft trade fodder, right? :P
Art: 5/5 -> Kakashi Goodness. The flavor text says it all.
