Shikamaru Nara
[Formation!]
Well, I picked the cards this week. I basically took
some versions of my favorite characters and called
it Fanboy week. XD. Anyway, Shikamaru Nara
[Formation] is one of the greatest cards of all
time. With the highest permanent MP, he is rivaled
only by his Smarty Pants sibling.
But what I like about this version is he can be
splashed anywhere that needs Mental support. Low on
0 drops AND mp? Throw him in there. Need ninjas that
can support? Shikamaru has a nice 1 support.
Although it fails to his older, Lazy brother's 2,
Shikamaru Formation has a nice overall feel to him.
But what does he have wrong with him? First of all,
Shikamaru isn't very good in battle, unless
partnered with a 3 combat 1 drop to help out.
Shikamaru also lost speed once we had the staple 0
drops pushed into place (NTC, AoC, Kono). The bad
part about those? They are all 0 drops, can be
splashed anywhere, and leave Shikamaru in the dust.
CONSTRUCTED: If you are playing aggro don't play
him. If you are playing MP, go with Smarty Pants.
Playing MP Hybrid? This guy is worth it. If we had
reviewed him earlier, he would have been a 4/5, but
now he's a 3/5.
LIMITED: I had hell pulling this guy, but after
awhile I lost the need for him. I'd rather pull 3
AoC's than 3 Shikas. Still, with Ibiki running
around in Limited, it's nice to have backup, 3/5
ART: The only DECENT Shikamaru art we've seen in the
game, 5/5. (Lazy Bum was bland, and Smarty Pants is
the devil incaranate)
OVERALL: 3/5.
