Lost City

Ok people - this one is going to be short, sweet, and to the point….promise! Lost city is a great card for all those brotherhood decks out there – especially after you run out of the effect from The New Brother Hood. Combo this card with Avalon Space Station and you have just created a bad situation for your opponent to deal with. Granted this card is not for everyone and sometimes it can get tough to find room for this card in your deck, but what have you got to lose?

Ratings:

Brotherhood constructed deck – 3.5/5.0 …..a boost is a boost no matter how you get it

Limited – 1.5/5.0 …the probability of getting more than one of the same brotherhood character in limited format isn’t that good

Johnny Blaze Lost City - If a Brotherhood character you control would become powered-up, that character gets +3 ATK and +3 DEF for this attack instead. A threshold cost of 1. Kind of redundant in a fast beatdown deck. Many of the cards you would play such as Savage Beatdown will give you a +5 ATK instead. So why reduce it to +3? The + 3 defense is kind of nice for those other cards that lower your defense while pumping up attack *cough * Acrobatic Dodge *cough.

This card is best used when discarding a character of the same name to power up. Instead of the +1/+1 you would get +3/+3. This effect is great early game. This card is not too bad in Limited either supposing you are drafting Brotherhood. Anything that can give you a +3/+3 in draft is decent.

Constructed: - 3/5
Limited: - 3.5/5

Paul Hagan Lost City --

Its hard to talk badly about a card that is the central piece to an extremely popular / successful deck (Lost Brotherhood). The benefit that Lost City gives is simply amazing. At the cost of one card, you get a better effect than It's Clobberin' Time, which we all know is a really good card (only for Fantastic Four, obviously). You can also flip it early, meaning from nearly the beginning of the game, your opponent has to play around the assumption that you have a power-up ready in hand, which in turn gives you a slight edge. Mix this card with Avalon Space Station and the Brotherhood are a force to be reckoned with.

In limited, you will rarely double up on multiple characters, meaning this card is pretty worthless. Unless you have duplicates of at least three or four characters, don't even consider playing this card.
