I've toyed with a build of Pestilence for years but haven't really had the tools to make it happen until of late. The deck wins with Pestilence. Everything else is just there to keep you alive until you get it out. If you're playing a player with enchantment removal and recursion then you'll have to be lucky to win. However, such decks are rarely the case and you still have the chance to deal with creatures using the ability. Against burn, though, things look even more bleak. But we play decks we enjoy playing right? And if your metagame is focused on Skies, Stompy, Sligh, and the like, you have an outstanding chance of winning. The main idea of the deck is that you'll bring out walls, wait until your opponent brings out his swarm, then blast away the swarm with Nausea, Infest, or Pestilence. You'll then take control of the game and use Pestilence for mass removal and for a kill condition. Cessation and Soul Link are for larger attackers, to make your opponent think twice before attacking with them. Vulshok Gauntlets are there to help the walls kill attackers that slip through. Cessation returns to your hand if the creature it was on dies. Mourner's Shield works for multiple Pestilence pings, since the effect targets the source of damage for the rest of the turn. Between Mourner's, Wall of Hope, and Soul Link you might even be gaining life off of Pestilence. Alternatively you can use the Shield to stop one of your opponent's creatures each turn.
