I side in Wrath of God for Glorious Anthem, he sides in Oblivion Stone. Game2 Another really fast start for me, getting him down to 10, he gifts ungiven for the same with an oblivion stone this time, i drop the witness illusions, he puts in the stone, I hold my next creature, I attack he pops the stone, I drop a 2/2 flyer. next round he witness for the illusions plays it and makes an army, game over for me. 2-0 played arcbound deck Artifact/black Game1 He starts off with alot of arcbound creatures, then a ravager, I cage of hands the ravager and his other huge counter artifact creature. He seemed a bit new to MTG so I helped him along the way and gave him a few "takebacks" I side in Purge for reciprocate Game2 Gets out a diciple, then a few arcbounds, ornithopter, I get samurai of pale curtain, then send in my first strike army take it in a few rounds. 0-1 played blue/white control deck Game1 - one and only Longest game I think I've played in forever, we didn't play slow just was alot of card swapping on his end. his key was blue spell bomb, which he kept cycling just about all 4 of, leonin to keep getting them back, then other leonin to keep searching for them, 4 myr servitors, totems to take my creatures, and stylus to get his totems back, I managed to get him down to 4 while I was at 19, only getting in an attack every other round, having to use my 2 master decoy's to keep his 4 servitors at bay, so I can send in an army with usualy just 1 making it across, and him taking a creature of mine and blocking with it, eventually he was able to take control of my entire army in 1 round and he said "Now I'm going to attack you for OMG ALOT". and he hit me for 29 with my own army plus his servitors. needless to say he won third place giving up second for the one game match, but I feel if I had a chance to sideboard and knowing what he had, I could have turned it around. Made a mistake taping his servitors at the wrong time for an attack I miss out on =(, shame on me. 2-0 played diciple, revers sands, ironworks deck Game1 Happens very very fast, I get out Auriok Glaivemaster, then splitter, swing for 4 first strike, he blocks with diciple, i get out Leonin Skyhunter, drop a second bone splitter, hit for 4, Next round i drop another flyer, equip the Bone Splitter on the first, hit for 8, next round he gets a blocker, I move splitter to the flyer, then swing for 8 sealing the game. Game2 Happens almost the same way but starting with 2 flyers, Empyrial Plate, he goes through his deck, gets down to 1 life, then realizes he taped the wrong land, and his talisman was taped for colorless mana =), he hits the table and says "can I redo this turn", I said "nope", he says "good game", if he hadn't taped the wrong land, and used his citadel instead of talisman for the colorless mana, he was going to reverse sands making him 20, me 1 and he was gonna sack to his diciple for the win. lesson learned I guess. Knowing how he bragged about his combo to me before playing, I knew what he was gonna do if he had redone his turn, so I didn't feel so giving. Totals: 4-3, 7th place out of 14 Overall it was great fun, I felt pretty good since played hard vs 2 very high ranked players, and the quality of most players there, were pretty high. My wife played this deck last tourny and took second, loosing only to a blue affinity control deck in the final round. I can handle, tooth-n-nail, ravaffinity, vialaffinity, burn, and black suicide fairly easily but, the consitant problem is, since the lack of Armageddon in type 2 and the crazy mana speed increase in green and affinity, it looses to control decks. The main enemy being kodama's reach, Sakura Tribe-Elder, and Artifact Lands. I'm off, and will be playing at the PTQ in Seattle, WA 12/18/04, have yet to decide what deck I will be using, but since I've ran white weenie since 1995, I'll probably go that route in its extended format form.
