Geralf's Masterpiece

Perhaps fittingly for the masterpiece of a character whose life's work was creating skaabs, this card has elements that go well with a lot of known Magic archetypes. It gets very strong in the late game, although a lot of blue midrange decks will want to draw cards; with careful selection and use of abilities like madness, though, you can certainly mitigate the inherent contradiction. I suspect, though, that its more common use in constructed will be to get things into your graveyard to set up some kind of (semi-)combo finish. While a lot of conventional reanimator decks go for faster things, this card is very good at setting up popular staples like Body Double and Firemane Angel.

A massive Zombie flyer that encourages you to keep your hand size down... in blue? This thing is an impressive beatstick that is both a good candidate for being discarded and for enabling Madness cards itself. It's incredibly hard to put down for good, flies, and is a strong synergistic choice in the U/B Zombie deck. Its only real weakness is that you basically have to go "all-in" when you bring it back, since after discarding three, you won't have many options left. Keeping a few Clues around can help, but if you bring this back and it immediately eats a removal spell, you're in for an uphill battle.
