Linvala, the Preserver

The new version of Linvala boasts a style of game text that has a respectable lineage, from Timely Reinforcements to Feudkiller's Verdict. Many of the cards of that lineage made an impact on tournament Magic, and there were a few decks that basically absolutely had to win before they were cast. Linvala is a good bet for being one of that category: good stats for a control finisher, a cost that fits at the top of the curve after the cards that keep a control deck alive, and even bringing an extra creature in case your opponent has one answer card in hand. I know that demons and dragons tend to get a lot of attention in both Magic and in related games like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder, but you should never bet against the angels!
