Topan Freeblade

The art for this card immediately caught my attention, because it looks like she's standing in front of a glaring light source. It makes an effect that conflates the glare with her heroic aura, and it somehow ends up looking incredibly Bant-ish.

You can just about count this as a 3/3 for two mana, seeing as people are often less likely to block early in the game. Of course, another creature deck may be tempted to block early so they don't have to fight through the larger version later on, and if you need a 3/3 for defense late in the game, this card won't do. It's probably not in quite the right place for high-level constructed, but there's a hilarious niche deck waiting to be designed around this card and some other renown creatures alongside Hardened Scales.

Welcome back readers today's card of the day is Topan Freeblade. This card is amazing especially in limited, in limited its an early aggressive drop that grows and can be both beneficial on offense and defense with a decent sized body that grows. In addition it does not require a heavy commitment to white making it a powerful early game card as well as whenever you draw it quite simply an all around powerful card in limited formats. In standard this card could be powerful in aggressive white decks it has relevant abilities and can keep the pressure on. Outside of constructed standard this card is too low impact. In casual and multiplayer this card is good for soldiers and can effectively get its renown trigger as opponents are more likely to provide an opening. Overall a great limited card and potentially powerful card elsewhere.

Today's card of the day is Topan Freeblade which is a two mana White 2/2 with Vigilance and Renown.  At this mana costs for a soldier with Vigilance this is already a very solid creature and the Renown adds an extra bit of value.  The mana cost allows it to be included in two color decks and there is no drawback to speak of, so it will see play both in aggressive White builds and soldier themes.

In a Limited format this is a great common to have in your Sealed pool that works offensively, defensively, and in any deck using White.  An easy third or later pick in Booster after selecting White and any copies should be run in Sealed when including more than a splash of White.
