Infiltration Lens

This Equipment confers no real benefit onto the creature it equips, but it does create a form of evasion. Most players will not want to let you draw two cards, which means that unless the equipped creature is about to deal lethal, a savvy opponent will let it through Even if your opponent has a creature that could block and kill yours without dying itself, they may decide that it's better to take a few points and let the creature live than kill it and give you two cards. Moreover, the Lens costs only one mana to cast and one to Equip, making it an excellent choice in a deck with creatures like Sunspear Shikari that just want to be equipped with whatever they can get. This card sort of reminds me of Skullclamp, a little. It a one-cost, one-equip Equipment that can draw you two cards when the creature dies... from being blocked (because no sensble player will block a creature carrying this if they can't kill the creature).

So, is this the "fair" Skullclamp or the "inferior" Mask of Memory? Maybe it's neither. If you're facing a Blight Mamba or a Wall deck, this can give people second thoughts about their gameplan. It gives you more options in your Stoneforge Mystic toolbox, and it's a great cost to power up Armament Master or Auriok Steelshaper. I imagine this card will find support among fans of equipment and creatures everywhere.

Today's card of the day is Infiltration Lens which at one mana to play and one to equip is quite reasonable for the ability to potentially draw two cards.  The opponent being able to control the block is the biggest drawback, but there are effects that can manage that or creatures that they'll want to block or add benefits for not being blocked.  In the proper deck this is a very effective card for a low cost and will either equal draw power or push the opponent into not blocking which allows Giant Growth or similar effects to be used.  Overall a very solid card that will be played often.

For Limited this is a great card to run alongside Infect or even in general for the reasons mentioned above.  An early equipment choice as support for White, Metalcraft, or Infect and should be played in any Sealed build.
