This reminds me of the combo blizzard that was Mirrodin block: artifacts lend themselves to combos. At the very worst, it can use its ability to bounce itself and put itself back into play, thus dodging removal. Heck, it can do that to any artifact to protect it from Naturalize. At best, trading a Chromatic Star for a Sharuum the Hegemon, and then retriggering Sharuum's ability at will? Yes please!

Master Transmuter

I mentioned Sneak Attack yesterday, which is both one of the most imitated cards in Magic and one of the hardest to make its variants balanced. Master Transmuter leans towards the powerful end of the scale, especially if you play it in older formats. Time will tell whether or not it lives up to its potential, but that potential is huge. Comes-into-play and leaves-play triggers are more the realm of colored cards than artifacts, but those that do exist are nearly all constructed-worthy, and Master Transmuter could be too. The fact that she has an activated ability that says "Counter target spell or ability that targets an Esper creature" in Alara block draft is the icing on the cake.

Wednesday - Master Transmuter

I was about to dismiss this card, but then I got to thinking. Something like this could be REALLY good in limited play. If you have an artifact that reloads counters or has a "comes into play" ability, that could be huge as well. Then of course, don 't forget that the transmuter herself is an artifact. You can return her to your hand to save her and trick another card into play. It's not a must have an any deck I wouldn't imagine, but it does have some interesting uses.

Here we go, a card for johnny's everywhere. If you'll check the faq on this card you'll see you can even return itself, dodging removal. A card i can see spikes using as well as you can get out an early mindslaver or dare i say darksteel collossus. I'm sure somebody will break this card in an Esper deck. A definite card to keep your eye on. In limited you can break out your huge artifact creatures for a beat down.
Constructed: 4, callin it right now
Casual: 3
Limited: 4
