Blood Knight - Friday

We've scene over the years that pretty much any Knight with first strike and protection from a color turns out to be good. I don't see why this is any different. This can't be targeted by the white enchantments that hold creatures down. It can't be targeted by spells such as Sunlance. There are a few different things that this card will be good for. It's a solor overall creature that's good in both limited and constructed.

Blood Knight

Red has gotten a lot of 2/1's for 1R in the past, but 2/2's for RR is a bit rarer. Add first strike to the mix, and you'll often find that the toughness doesn't really matter-- nothing smaller than a 2/3 will bother blocking it anyway, and that's fine by Red. Then there's the pro:white, which is a nice commodity given the abundance of Condemn, Pacifism effects, and Lightning Helix. Black rode a creature just like this one to victory quite often, and Red could theoretically do the same, especially with burn to back it up.

2/23 - Blood Knight

The last card of the week, Blood Knight comes with one big question: Who is he REALLY timeshifted from? It could be any of the colored-knights (black, white, silver). I say silver, since Blood Knight is obviously the foil of white's Silver Knight. This guy is reasonably above the curve for red (who normally gets either gets 2/2s with a drawback for 2 or who gets 2-drops that are only good in goblin decks). There's not a huge amount to be said about him. He's good. He is good against any white-weenie deck. He's good in boros decks (not sure if he's better than the current inclusions, but he's still good).

Limited - 4 (if you're in red, or if you're not sure what colors you're in yet, take him)

Blood Knight

I really like this card, probably because I really liked White Knight. It's a solid addition to Boros variants for the mirror matchup. Two for a 2/2 first striker with protection from white is very good.

In limited, this is probably going to be a top 2 or 3 pick for me. It's a very solid creature.

Friday - Blood Knight

Black Knight's red cousin. He's a good candidate for the Boros decks but I'm not sure he'll get in as they are pretty strapped for room, and Soltari Priest and Knight of the Holy Nimbus are just better. What white cards will matter that can hit this? Maybe Condemn, but this doesn't escape Porphyry Nodes and Wrath. I'd rather have Shadow and the hard-to-kill abilities than the First Strike and the pro-white. Not that he's a bad card by any means, just I don't see him fitting anywhere yet.

In casual, why not? He's a solid 2/2 beater for your red deck or for a knight deck.

In limited, I'd definitely grab this if I were red. He's efficient, hard to force a trade with, and laughs at white...what more do you want?

Constructed - 2.5
Casual - 3
Limited - 3.5
