Phage the Untouchable

You WIN the GAME if she hits?  Sounds amazing, right?  However, you LOSE if she comes into play from anywhere other than being played from your hand.  The trouble with that is a little card called Delay.  You see, if Phage gets Delayed, then in three turns she comes into play from somewhere other than your hand, and you lose.  So, as long as Time Spiral block is still Standard legal, Phage isn't safe to use.

In casual or limited, however, it's one of the most fun cards there is.  Sure the mana cost is steep, but it's worth it to WIN the game.

Tuesday - Phage the Untouchable

She wasn't used much due to Astral Slide being popular in Onslaught block, and now you've got to worry about decks like Blink Touch and any other decks involving the use of that popular card. She might go up in value after Ravnica rotates out, because Blink Touch basically goes with it, but that's not for another couple of months. A game-winning card if you can drop her and give her unblockability, but that's assuming you can actually cast her, because you can't reanimate her. Right now, not worth it at all.

In casual she can be fun. Just watch out for Astral Slide.

In limited, a bomb, since you don't have to worry about Blink. Just make sure you have enough black to play her.

Casual - 4
Limited - 4.5

Phage the Untouchable

You'd be surprised how many people read Phage's rules text selectively and try to Zombify her. I doubt Phage will ever make a big impact in constructed, but she is extra super cool. She'll always be a casual favorite with cards like Whispersilk Cloak, Loxodon Warhammer, and Shizo, Death's Storehouse, and I think it might be an understatement to call her a must-be-blocked creature in limited events (despite her super-heavy-black mana cost).

Oh, and that issues with her rules text and Zombify helps highlight the importance of literacy.

Phage the Untouchable

Someone had this in a sneak attack deck and could sneak him in and end you game if you were not careful.  If another way to get him in without paying the hefty 4 black + 3 colorless (yikes) cost, then this guy may see play.  However, with that cost, he is combo only.

Creature - Minion

When Phage the Untouchable comes into play, if you didn't play it from
your hand, you lose the game.
Whenever Phage deals combat damage to a creature, destroy that creature.
It can't be regenerated.
Whenever Phage deals combat damage to a player, that player loses the
game.

In constructed, it can't be reanimated (well, except with Body Double),
it costs a lot and Delay makes its owner lose the game. That means this
is totally unplayable.

Casual-wise, this still costs a lot, but I like its flavour. In limited,
this will just get gang-blocked, netting a 2 for 1 or something so it's
not really worth the 7 mana.

It also seems weird to me how the first ability states Phage's full
card name whereas the second and third one does not.
