No. Well, that may be a little too succinct, but I guess what I'm trying to say is PLEASE DON'T PLAY THIS CARD, it's kind of terrible. At the very least, this card is awful in limited play. For this card to be a smart bet, you would need to have several (at least two) ways of turning land into creatures in your deck. This card might as well say 'all your purple creatures gain +2/+2'.you just don't have any purple creatures, and even when you spend four mana to put Earth Surge into play, you still won't have any lands that have been turned into creatures most of the time. In constructed, you would obviously include Earth Surge only in a deck that was built around the idea (and hopefully, the ability) to turn your lands into creatures. Sounds a fun, casual gaming experience to me.

This card by itself makes little sense. That alone make sit hard for me to give it a high rating. There are plenty of other cards that turn lands into creatures, but if you were to draw this card by itself, you'd by highly disappointed. So, this one gets a low rating. It likely only STRONG in casual play.

A lot of players, I suspect mostly on the casual side, really want this card to be good. It will be up to them to try it out and make it work in some deck or other. I have heard some people mentioning it will be nice with the Genjus. Of course, there are a few cards that can make your lands into creatures, including a new one in Guildpact, Siege of Towers. Probably not your first pick for man land makers, but it is an option for the casual crowd.

I'm going to try to make a fun deck with Earth Surge...just to see if it can be a viable casual build. Wish me luck...

I'm glad this card exists, because it does something new.
Unfortunately the thing it does is pretty much junk. The only real use I can see for this is in combination with Siege of Towers to create an army of 5/3 mountains. Be prepared to get this as a very late pick rare and to have it clogging up your trade binder for years to come.
