 Eiganjo Castle

People are loving the Castle and the other somewhat similar legendary lands from Champions of Kamigawa. This land can function like a basic land, yet provides some useful effect in the event that you have Eiganjo Castle and a legendary creature in play on your side at the same time. Even if I were building a deck focused around legendary creatures, I don't know how important a card like this one would really be. You can't play three or four of them since you can only have one in play at a time. The new legends rule makes legendary lands worse, since your opponent's Eiganjo Castle in his hand becomes a kind of Stone Rain for your Eiganjo Castle already in play.
In limited, this card could be fine or even desirable if you have three or more legendary creatures. Unfortunately for me, I never find myself having that many legends in my deck in Champions limited formats.

Holy Situational Batman! How often is it going to come up that you get to prevent two damage to a legend in this game of Magic? Maybe in a casual format where you are playing an all legend deck, but even then you need to leave this land AND another land untapped to ever activate it. In short, this land is far too situational to be worthwhile in almost all circumstances.

 Eiganjo Castle - Tuesday

All I can say is that I don't like this card. Because it only prevents damage to a Legend, it is highly limited. I couldn't see myself making space for this card except for in a select few decks. Even in limited, it's not very likely that I would play it. But you never know there.

 Eiganjo Castle --

Eiganjo Castle is decent enough, but I'm not going to give it too good of a rating. White Weenie can support this card right now, with Eight-and-a-Half Tails, Isamaru, and the assortment of other small white legends, but almost everywhere else, it isn't that hot.

In limited, I probably wouldn't play this card unless I lucked out and got three or so white legends that I wanted to run. Otherwise, it gets to hang out in the crapstack almost immediately.

 Eiganjo Castle

No heavy drawback to this cycle of cards (the standard comes into play tapped or does damage) makes this an auto-include as a 1 or 2 of in any deck where the ability is relevant. The new legendary hound means this sees some constructed play, guaranteed.
