Troll Ascetic looks good... pretty damn good, actually.  He avoids your opponent's antics, yet can still be targeted by you for pumping spells or equipment or whatever. It's a regenerating 3/2 for only 3 mana, which brings it into the realm of playable. Let's see if green finds a special place in a deck for it.

In limited, you play it if you have green. Mirrodin limited seems to favor green anyhow and will usually turn up as a color in most sealed Mirrodin decks. A regenerator that can't be a target of your opponent's stuff is a dream come true. You can block away to your heart's content with this guy if you have the mana open. Slap some equipment on it to really make it an insane regenerating attacker or blocker...Good times!

By the way... we could use your help!! We just posted our New Website for Shuffle & Cut Games, and it would be great if some of you could drop in and give it a test run.  The Strategy and Search features are not active yet, but we're working on them.  (Though we just put up a bunch of Mirrodin singles last night.)  Please send constructive comments or any bug reports to: ScottAndChris@ShuffleAndCutGames.com.  Thanks, everyone!!  We really want to hear from you!

Effectively, a smaller Autumn Willow with regeneration. It has power equal to its converted mana cost, which is a rare thing to find these days, even in constructed. The double green in the mana cost limits it to decks that run heavy green. But if you are one of those decks in Standard, I'd play this. You can still target it to your heart's content. :)

In limited, it has 3 power, and it regenerates. In it goes, and smash away.

Troll Ascetic
I like this guy a lot (some of you who know me would be unsurprised by
this).  Two forms of self protection,  3 power,  and you can still rancor
him up (or boneripper, whatever).  Very cool.  Not broken, but a very solid
card.
constructed 3.3
limited 3.2

Troll Ascetic is great - a pure beatdown creature that is really hard to kill.

Constructed - Hello Stompy - 3.85

Limited - Great for the ground game - 3.85
