DEDs' 10 HeroClix Trix

HeroClix Trix, by DED

Hay, My name's Eddie and I've been playing the hell outta HeroClix ever sense they came out.  These are a few of the little tricks that I've figured out while I've been playing. If you want to ask any questions about anything, please Email me at Causeimded@AOL.com. And for the love of God, please don't Email me and say something stupid like ,"You suck ass" or something as stupid as that. If I wanted to hear insults I'd hang out with my family. Other than that I hope you like the Tricks of the Trade I've come up with.

Telekinesis/Super Strength Move: (Magneto, Mandroid Armor, Thing)
When setting up, place Magneto next to Mandroid Armor. Make sure that Thing is close enough to perform a Charge (4 spaces for a Vet). Use Magnetos' telekinesis to move Mandroid Armor next to any object within 10 spaces. Then use Mandroid Armors' telekinesis to move the object next to an opponent. Then use Thing's Charge to attack the opponent for either 6 or 7 damage. If no one's moved and you gotta go first, use a flyer and taxi Thing over to the opposition. Doom is a good taxi because of his Mastermind. He can deflect the damage off onto Thing, which Thing then absorbs, as long as it's not more than 2.

Doom/Absorbing Man Strategy:  (Doom, Absorbing Man, Destiny)
This one's rather easy, and I'm sure there's been someone to think of it before me, but here it goes anyway. Dooms' Mastermind power can deflect damage off onto another character, therefore if you keep Absorbing Man next to Doom, Absorbing Man can use his Impervious Power to either reduce the damage by 2 or take none at all. Use Destiny to reroll if you'd like to try for no damage at all.

Telekinesis/ Mind Control Move:  (Magneto, Mandroid Armor, White Queen, Paramedic)
This is another Telekinesis maneuver, so you can see what I like doing... Place Magneto and the Mandroid Armor next to each other like before. Place White Queen (Really any Mind Control Character will work, but I like her because of her Super Senses.) right behind Magneto like this:

   /Mandroid Armor/Magneto       /
   /    Paramedic      /White Queen/

Usually, if your friends are like mine, they hate Magneto and White Queen, so eventually someone is going to come after them. When their in close combat position, use Magnetos' Telekinesis to move them away at least 2 spaces. Mind Control the character, and use everything the character has. The up side to it all is, if you roll snake-eyes, their character takes the damage, if not, another of their characters gets the brunt of the friendly fire. Plus you moved them away from you so they don't hurt your guys any more. The Paramedic is for healing White Queen if she takes damage from the Mind Control. Mandroid Armor is there for another Telekinesis move, if the need should arise. In theory, you could use this maneuver and the first one in conjunction. However, the conditions would have to be just right to work though.

The Suicide Squad Maneuver: (Dr. Doom or Nebula and absolutely any weak character)
As I said before (I seem to be repeating myself) Mastermind is a good power to have. Doom and Nebula have the power and with Dooms' Perplex, they both do 4 damage on the first click. If you amass a giant team of crap characters i.e.; Thugs, Hoes, sorry I mean Con Artists, and Skrulls, they can go out and decimate your opponents without taking any damage. Besides the one click the Con Artist has with Perplex, all of the above mentioned characters are just filler, so you might as well use the worthless masses. Kill em all. I made a team with nothing but Thugs, Con Artists and various Shield personnel that added up to 300 exactly, so I still had 500 left over. (We usually play 800 games by the way, if you didn't figure that out by now.) That means I could still use both Nebula and Doom, some healers, and other various worthy characters for help.

The Fiery Poison Team: (Firelord and Diablo)
If you put these two Clix together, they can take down a pissed off Hulk without much trouble. Firelord, with his Ranged Combat Expert, does 5 damage as we all know, but usually the people you tend to go after with him has Invulnerability. This won't do, so use Diablos Outwit to get rid of that, and get that full 5 damage you need. This usually does a good chunk of damage to whoever your fighting, so go after the opponent again with Diablo. With the 5 clicks already taken, he can hit just about anybody for 3 more. Now, if for some reason this isn't instant death for the one your fighting, throw up the Smoke Cloud using Diablos Will Power. This is just in case you feel your about to get clobbered by someone else, if your in the clear though, use the Will Power to finish the job with 3 more damage. Note: You aren't going to make friends doing this, and they will want to take out the two characters that just killed their big character, so it might be advisable to exert Firelord and get the two of them the hell outta Dodge. Otherwise you won't get to do this but one time. Make it count.

The Moon Knight Maneuver: (Moon Knight)
Moon Knight isn't used too much, but with this move you can use him to take out a weak Power House character, a mid range character or insta-kill a weak character. Moon Knight has Super Strength and Stealth, so you can pick up an object and carry it around with you to hide in. Then you can attack your opponent while hiding conveniently. With Will Power you get to attack twice for a total of four damage. (A death sentence for a Skrull) I just like the thought of a guy running around holding up a table and poking an opponent from underneath it, while their trying to figure out where it's coming from. It would never work in real life but it's funny that it works like that in HeroClix.

The "What's that in the Sky" Move: (Kitty Pride and the Vet. Logan)
I'm sure people have been doing this for a while, but I'm typing it. Have Kitty Pride pick up the Vet. Logan and drop him off about four spaces away from your opponent. Move Logan in close, and then Push him. The next click has Flurry and Blades/Claws/Fangs. You can figure out what to do from there. But know this; Logan is likely to get splattered after this, so only use this move if your desperate to take out a character that's been causing you trouble. Never do this as your first move, either. It's best to use this move as a last ditch effort to get rid of said baddy, and you should always try to use him to his maximum potential before sacrificing him. I just used Kitty Pride for her Super Senses, but really any flyer will work just fine. Doom would be a good one, or Firelord, or Death Bird, etc.

The Ameba: ( Vet. Invisible Woman and anybody else)
My friend uses this tactic a lot, and for the most part, it's impervious until someone gets lucky. When moving your characters, make sure to move the Vet Invisible Woman out and surround her completely with other characters. Her Defend ability will give everyone around her a 19 defense. Even lowly little Skrulls and Thugs. Wow... a thug with a 19 defense. Then just move the group around like that, destroying everything in sight. The next click is 18 and so forth, so for a little while, the Ameba is invincible.

The Ameba Destroyer: (2 or more Perplex Characters, 2 Probability Control Characters,                       2 Blades/Claws/Fangs Character, 1 Telekinesis Character)
To be fair, I'm going to have to tell you the weak point of this defense. You only hope is if you thought things through and have at least two people with Perplex. Send in a character with Blades/Claws/Fangs with the highest attack you can find, then add all of the Perplexes to his/her attack. This will give you a little boost, keep a Probability Control character around and give one of the head opponents a good thrashing. If you don't get it the first time, use PC. If you succeed in attacking but get like a 1 for the B/C/F, reroll that to try and get a 6. Usually this is enough to kill the little guy. Push the character to break away, and either use another PC character to make sure you can get the hell outta there, or everything that you did is for nothing. After he moves, have your next B/C/F character next to a Telekinesis character. Telekinesis him right at Invisible Woman, and go to town on her. No more Defend...no more Ameba. Beware however Medics. They can screw the whole thing up for you.

The Lazy Susan: (Magneto, any kind of Medics, and insert character here)
I like to set up a base of operations where I started, I think everybody does this. I like to use Magneto as a Lazy Susan. If you place your Medics on both sides of him he can Telekinesis them to whoever needs the health. If an opposing character is up against the guy your trying o heal, you can't heal the guy up, so you can use good old Eric to kill-knock back-or scare off Mr. or Mrs. Baddy, and heal the guy up. Be careful though...everybody hates medics for some reason, and love to keep you from healing your guys up. Try to get a flyer out there or a body guard, quick.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. So until I think of some more, I'll smell ya later.
