'Hostage Situation'- Jake Foskuhl Okay, here is a very challenging and exciting scenario that makes you use strategy and caution to win, even if you have people like Superman and Thor. Here is how you play 'Hostage Situation': You should have about 200 or 300 points. It's best to play with a few friends (all on the 'Rescue Team'). When you set up the map, you should play on an indoor map and start outside. Inside (I'll use the Marvel Infinity Starter Set map as an example), put ten 'hostages' in different rooms (in the middle, put 4). Hostages can be bystander tokens, or pennies, nickels, etc.(if you have no Bystander tokens, each hostage has 6 movement, 6 attack, 13 defense, and 0 damage). Next to each hostae should be a 'hostage-taker'. A hostage-taker is no more than 30 points. Some examples are thugs, henchmen, Skrulls, Hellfire guards, Hydra Operatives, etc. Weak foot-soldiers. They will be adjacent to a hostage. There should be roughly 15-20 hostage-takers. (Hint- to make the game really challenging, put the hostages IN FRONT of the hostage-takers) Okay, now, the object of the sceranrio is to free all of the hostages (well, 80% minimum). To free a hostage, you must Knock Out all of the enemies within line of sight. Then, you need to protect them as they leave the building (make sure other hostage-takers can't aee them). Now, here's the trick-as soon as a hostage-taker has a clear line of fire to a hero, they recieve an automatic attack roll on thier hostage, unless the hero has Running Shot, Charge, or Hypersonic Speed- then, they get an attack roll at the end of your turn. Hostage-takers cannont see figures with Stealth. Hostages are considered friendly figures, so powers like Defend works with them. Figures with Super Strength may pick up hostages who are in an adjacent square and carry them for the duration of the turn at no cost. Hostage-takers have their turns after all of the hero players have had their turns. Given a choice, they will always attack the closest hostage rather than a hero. There is a one-hour time limit. If all hostages are not rescued, you lose. This is a very fun and challenging game. My friends and I tried it, and we only rescued eight of the ten hostages. It is a great game where everyone works with each other to accomplish a goal. If you have any questions, comments, etc., e-mail me at jfosk11@juno.com . Thanks!
