Today's review is Mirror Master from Origin

 

Let’s review us one of Flash’s oldest villains, Mirror Master

 

The rookie stinks, and the exp has the wildcard going for him, but since I am in a mood for some combos I like, I will go with the vet (also wanted to review someone with the IL team)

 

He is 88 points, 8 range 2 targets, 6 clicks of life, no AE, and an Injustice League member

Speed:  Numbers aren’t great but phasing lets you go anywhere

Attack:  Little below average numbers, gets pretty low, incap works good 2 targets, pulse wave might not be any good since your attack tops out at an 8 then

Defense:  Not bad, values aren’t great but I like the powers

Damage:  Shape change is a beaute, and perplex never hurts

The Good:  My favorite defense combo…Super Senses and Shape Change

      Perplex helps him and team members

      IL team might come in handy….might…

      Full dial phasing

      2 target incap

The Bad:   Attack numbers get too low too fast

    IL team on its own might not do any good

    Needs a TK’er or Lockjaw to get around

    Will use perplex on himself most of time


Feats:   ICWO is needed for the low attack, Camoflogue will keep him annoying, Nanobots to heal, and The Society can give him a ˝ chance of not being outwitted, stunning blow also works…personally….I would just go with Camo and Society, don’t jack up the price on a harasser


Overall:   At first look, this guy really is not really that great for 88 points, if he was about 65, he would be amazing.  For some reason though, I do like him.  The thing I like about him is I can see him being very annoying.  With camoflogue, he basically has stealth, so he can hide and try to get some double target incaps off.  8 range isn’t bad either, so he will be able to hit a lot.  Also, with the society on him, you can basically put your team symbol to good use and have a good chance of not being outwitted.  That means you can use him to stand next to a wall and tie up there outwitter, being the ultimate annoyance.  All this for a convient 96 points.  Lets not forget that he can do 3 damage, so early on having him make attacks with his 2 targets and 10 attack can lead to some good usage.  Also, shape change with super senses is an amazing combination, and barring any pushing, you might never get hit off that first click.  I would like to use him, once I buy some Origin boosters (I am in school and have no money, but my job starts in a week, so goodbye first paycheck).

Sealed/Draft:  2 / 5 (he needs those cards to be truly effective)

 

Overall:  2.5 / 5

Mirror Master has the ability to travel through mirrors. I guess he can control them too.. and this guy fights the Flash? Let's see if his dial can do that explaining.

(Once again thanks David for showing me a site that I can easily make these dials.)
 
 Speed  -- TRANSPORTER! WITH PHASING! This means transporter ability to run and shoot AND he doesn't need to break away. He's not very fast but hey, it's still a transporter.
 
 Attack  -- Nice Incapactitate with 2 arrows. The quick downward spiral of attack is common in Origin so no worries there. Not much Pulse Wave is going to do.
 
 Defense  -- I don't mind 16 with Super Senses. It stays drastically high till death but most transporters are too busy running around to flee to base anyway.
 
 Damage  -- Shape Change means another chance at dodging an attack.  3 is par to me but the mid-dial Perplex will have to be wasted on himself most of the time.
 
 Sculpt  -- Anyone else notice how orange Origin is? Or should i say ORANGEin?

Strategy
Switch off and on from transporting and attacking. But stay near the medics in case the worst arrives (Mirror can't boost his way home from very far away). Try to not push because that double dose of attack dodging can pay off greatly.
 
~ Double Time isn't a must since you don't want to push him. I'd stick off the feats; he costs a lot already. There is a reason I wanted to review him besides the fact that I pulled one: he's such a tricky figure to use. He bleeds a hefty amount of points but can potentially win the game for you. Give him a go a few times to see if you like him. ~

Mirror Master is a classic Flash villain and will work great in Rogues theme teams, as well as matching a few other DC villain keywords.

Rookie Mirror Master

The high cost of Incapacitate strikes hard here. Low stats and lack of frontloaded movement powers hurt the Rookie badly. Still, CAMOUFLAGE or HEIGHTENED REFLEXES could make him a serious harrassment.

Experienced Mirror Master

Transporter ability, wildcard status, opening Phasing/Teleport and increased range make the Experienced MM way better than his 58 points suggest.

Though his stats are mediocre, his utility as a taxi and move+attacker can't be discounted. He's fine without feats.

At 30 points more than the Experienced, the Vet seems too pricey. But several opening clicks of double-target Incap beg for STUNNING BLOW. Frontloaded Shape Change beg for CAMOUFLAGE. And the Injustice League TA begs for THE SOCIETY. Never play him without at least two of those cards. The loss of the Calculator TA is a blow, too. Slightly overpriced, but worth his points with the proper feats.
