Today's review is Phantom Girl from LoSH

I never read LoSH, so I don’t know most of these characters.  If they aren’t in the current JLA/JSA arc, then I don’t know them.

She is a rookie, 40 points, 0 range, 5 clicks of life, a flier, no AE, and LoSH team

Special Power:  Basically, if she moves through a space with an object, it is removed from the game.  Also, if she ends a move action adjacent to an object or a character carrying an object, the object is removed from the game.  It is on damage clicks 1-4.

Speed:  Decent numbers with phasing is fine in my book

Attack:  Not Vet Havok numbers, but not bad either

Defense:  Very high for the points, ridiculous even, and ending SS helps

Damage:  Low, but disruption kills nanobot dependant teams

The Good:  Phasing

      Disruption

      Extremely High Defense

      Attack values aren’t bad

      Great tie-up / taxi

      Wildcard

The Bad:  Can’t do a lot of damage

Feats:  Nanobots is all I would use

Overall:  Alright, first off, 2 clicks of a pure 18 defense for a 40 point wildcard with a full dial of phasing is BROKEN! The defense stays high the entire time, meaning she can be a great meat shield for your other pieces.  Also, she flies with phasing, making her the perfect Taxi.  Her special power cripples Nanobot dependant teams (take that KC Flash).  Oh, and she is also a Wildcard, which is always a good thing.  The only problem with her is her attack and damage are average at best, meaning she won’t do much attack wise throughout the game.  Her lack of range also hurts, but not that bad.  Still, there are so many positives over the negatives that I cannot help but love her.  Play her once you get this set.

Constructed/Unrestricted:   4 / 5

Sealed/Draft:    N/A / 5

Overall:    4 / 5

Team: Legion of Super-Heroes
Keywords: "Future" "Legion" "Teen"
Range: 0 x 1

DIAL:

ANALYSIS:
Starts well and able to tussle with a 9 Attack Value and good Phasing movement. But what she excels at is tie-up, for two big reasons. First, she's got an 18 defense, for two clicks. Second, her Special Power enables her to erase objects from the board just by moving through them or standing next to them, even if the object is being held. NICE.

FEATS?
Don't bother. She's nice and inexpensive as is...it's part of her charm.

ETC.
Her "Teen" keyword may just make that themed team broken like a punched jaw.

IN SUM:
40 points for 18 defense and to nerf enemy Super Strength characters? AND able to do a little fighting, too? Yeah.

RATING: 5 of 5. Say hello to white cheddar in bell bottoms.

Team: Avengers
Keywords: "Armor" "Avengers" "Reporter" "Scientist"
Range: 6 x 2

DIAL:
http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figures_dials.asp?dialid=11367&unitid=13165&universeid=4

ANALYSIS:
Working with Tony Stark, Spider-Man here is in full genius mode with Outwit for one click. He also sports Invulnerability, Super Strength and Leap/Climb with great numbers. Good as this click is, though, it pales next to #2, where he gets three clicks of his Special Power, Webbing. It's basically Incapacitate, but it gives the target two tokens instead of one, for guaranteed pushing damage or lockdown every hit -- and with two targets, Spidey can really affect a battlefield. In close, the enemy has Flurry to worry about.

He loses his armor's damage reducers on his back half, but gains defense boost to 18 with Super Senses.
Super
Strength and L/C return, too, and his AV ramps steadily back up to double digits. Shape Change appears frequently throughout the dial to give him extra protection as well.

FEATS?
POUNCE works on certain clicks if you simply MUST have some move+attack from him. As an Avenger, either ALPHA FLIGHT or THUNDERBOLTS work for him. Consider CAMOUFLAGE for his Shape Change clicks and VAULT for his L/C ones.

IN SUM:
Affordable but powerful enough to threaten anyone, just like Spider-Man the character. And while he's not a wildcard proper, his array of keywords will fit him on plenty of themed themes. Lack of a proper
move+attack power is his sole drawback; otherwise he
could anchor a team.

RATING: 4 of 5.
