Dario Much like yesterday, today we have another Unique: Arkon. And once again, I have very little info about the clix, so once again I’ll just skip comments:
This guy is not a flyer, he has no archenemy, he’s a pretty cool sculpt :p, costs 80 points, has 8 clicks of health, 8 range 1 target, no TA and:

Stats:

Speed: 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7, 7. 1st click has Phasing 2nd click has Running Shot, 3rd and 4th clicks have Charge, 5th and 6th have Force Blast, and the last 2 clicks have Phasing.

Attack: 9, 10, 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 7. From the 4th click on, Energy Explosion all the way.

Defense: 18, 17, 17, 16, 15, 15, 16, 17.First 3 clicks are Toughness, following 2 are Combat Reflexes, and that’s it.

Damage: 4, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 2. First 2 clicks have Leadership, next 2 have RCE and that’s it.

Analysis: Nice range for and overall values for the cost. The Phasing at the end would be really good to run back to the medic… but he has a 17 defense… :S. Running Shot followed by some Charge is very nice to have, but not from your 2nd click on… specially ‘cuz he has his best damage and defense on his first click… He’ll be always hard to hit from close and he’ll have a good chance of hitting most of the time. His damage is decent for his cost… it kind of sucks that he has RCE considering that he has Charge and Combat Reflexes, but I guess you can look at it like this: you have options, and that’s never a bad thing.

Conclusion: I find this guy an average Joe, he doesn’t stand out for anything in particular, but he can’t be underestimated. Try him out if you want in 300 points teams or higher, he might work for you.

Rating:

200 – 2/5
300 – 2.75/5
400+ – 3.25/5

Today's review is Arkon from Sinister

I really wish I knew who these guys were….well not really…but it would be nice.

He is a Unique, 80 points, 8 clicks of life, 8 range 1 target , no team

Speed: 9,8,8,8,8,7,7,7  Phasing, Running Shot, Charge for 2, Force Blast for 2, Ends 2 Phasing

Attack: 9,10,9,9,9,8,8,7  Energy Explosion clicks 4 till 8

Defense: 18,17,17,16,15,15,16,17  Toughness first 3, Combat Reflexes next two, then nothing

Damage: 4,3,2,2,3,3,2,2  Leadership first two, RCE next two, then nothing

The Good: Is it me, or is there a lot of 18 Def in Sinister?

Lots of colors for 80 points

                     Damage stays good throughout

8 clicks for the points is not bad at all

                     I like the 8 range

End Phasing is good to run away

                     Good attack values

End Defense is hard to heal but hard to hit at that point as well

The Bad:  WHY, WHY PHASING THEN MOVE AND SHOOT!!!

Energy Explosion with one target is lame

What is with the second click being better than the first?

                    Weird power combinations

Feats:  The standards ICWO and Protected if you want…..nothing more

Overall: What more can you say for an 18 defense at 80 points.  He has the high opening damage that V Clayface has, just without the move and shoot to use it.  He has good attack values, but some junky combinations.  The Charge clicks are useless because of the two damage, you will NEVER use charge with 4 movement over a 4 damage with an 8 range.  If he started with 9(RS),10,18(Tough),4….he would be at least a 4 out of 5 character.  But, because of the combinations, he will stay a little less.  He is in no way a bad heroclix, but he is not amazing either.  He is a good cheap standing brick, that’s about it.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 3.5 / 5

Sealed/Draft: 3 / 5

Overall: 3 / 5

REVIEWED BY CRAMCOMPANY

Today we'll be reviewing Arkon from Sinister

THANKS.  I owe a lot to Pojo to for my big win.  In the upcoming weeks I’ll be writing a lot of different articles on how I won the World Championship of Heroclix at Philly.  Thanks for reading and all of your support.  I will be splitting these articles between, Pojo, Critical Hit and HC Realms so if you want to get the full story you’ll have to check every where.

Arkon is definitely one of the most embarrassingly looking characters to play with, up there with Moondragon, Moonstar and Nimrod.

Unique: 80 points, No Team

MOVEMENT:  Grrrr!!!!  Running Shot on the Second Click!  Phasing at the end is really good.  Charge in the middle, sure why not?

ATTACK:  9 attack, I second the Grrr…  10 attack on his second click, just is frustrating.

DEFENSE:  18 defense with Toughness is great for 80 points.  17 on his second click means that he is not really worth pushing.  He’s always hard to hit and with the new neutered healing rules make that is a really good thing.

DAMAGE:  4 might as well be 12 for this set, because nobody hits for very much.  Still 4 damage is only good if you hit, otherwise it really could be 12.  Ranged Combat Expert keeps him dangerous.

SCULPT:  Pretty funny if you ask me.

OVERALL:

*       Leadership is alright, but almost never a reason to play a character

*       Nice Damage and Great Defense

*       Does his poor attack hurt his nice defense and damage too much?

*       So many mixed up his between his first an second clicks

*       Lot’s of raw power

*       8 range is pretty good

*       He is a lot like Havok, 18 defense from ranged attack, hits for 4 damage, no move and attack, but Havok has a better attack

ealHeal

Arkon is really hard to rate, his damage, range and defense are all really good for the points, but he’s not always going to hit.  He would be better alone if he’s pushed, but then his impressive 18 and 4 stats go away.  If you play Arkon use Nanobots, Protected, Incontact to help his defense and Lockjaw carrying him around.  Overall, I think he is a little to jumbled to be amazing, but he’s definitely too powerful to be ignored.

HE RECEIVES 3.5 OUT OF A POSSIBLE 5 THUMBS UP!

Good, Bad, I’m the Guy with the Clix
