Today's review is Hound from Days of Future Past

In the Future, Rachel Summers is forced to hunt down other mutants and work for the sentinels.  If her powers really were like the ones on this click….she didn’t catch much

She is a Unique, 130 points, 8 range 1 target, a flier, and no team

Speed:  Oh boy, starts with earthbound….then mind control…then running shot….that is real backwards

Attack:  Low to start, high in middle, sucks at end, incap is wasted points, at least she has 2 clicks where she might hurt someone

Defense:  Low numbers that will get hit fast and not enough reducers to keep her around

Damage:  130 and starts with a 0….doesn’t get much better until click 5

The Good:  10 life

      8 range

      1 really monstrous click

The Bad:   9 really bad clicks

Mind Control and Incap with 1 target

Psychic Blast and RCE don’t work

Pulse Wave and RCE doesn’t work

     Backwards movement

Way too random of a dial

     Low numbers all around

Not nearly worth the 130 points

Feats:   Oh hell no

Overall:    Just don’t ever play her, it’s that simple.  I don’t think I’ve seen a click this bad since The Leader.  She is kind of like Legacy Joker, if Legacy Joker wasn’t a threat and fun to play.  She has one good click on the whole dial…good luck landing on it.

Constructed/Unrestricted:  0 / 5

Overall:  0 / 5

“Heroclix….they’re cool, addictive, and available….the things practically sell themselves.”

Correction: Thanks to Xmenfan147 for pointing out to me that Hulk 2099 is a Giant Figure.  Forget about the Tk, just use 2 lockjaws instead for tying up.

Dial

Wow, what an unplayable dial THIS is. Hound starts with a whopping FOUR clicks of Earthbound and two of 0 damage. Two clicks in, she can TK with Willpower, so that's useful, maybe. But any Hound player is wanting to get to clicks 5 & 6 (high AV with Pulse Wave and Psychic Blast respectively). But frankly, you're not likely to ever see them unless she gets hit hard on top-dial or lightly on mid-dial. No opponent who knows her dial will make that mistake.

The rest of her dial is mediocre at best. She gets TK again, but her AV really tanks, and no damage reducers means she'll die fast.

Feats: DOUBLE TIME to get off those activation clicks.
NANOBOTS to heal up to those excellent mid-dial clicks if you get knocked past them.

Themes:
Days of Future Past, or nothing at all.

Comic accurate?
Very much so. Early dial = her time as a power-dampened, mind-controlled hunter of her fellow mutants in a dark future. Then she breaks the Sentinels' hold on her and unleashes her true power.

In sum:
Hound is tough to play. She's basically a mix of Mastermind fodder/Line-of-fire blocker/tie-up piece/TK slinger for more powerful teammates until she gets off Earthbound and can do her own fighting for a minute before becoming Rookie Jean Grey. Very schizo but potentially fun...

Rating: 1.5/5. But at 130 points? No.
