Majinxstar Today we look at the new Unique Baron Blood form the upcoming Fantastic Forces. He is a vampire that worked with the Nazi forces in WW2. That is what is bad about him. What is good is that he is just an awesome piece.
He kicks so much butt and he is one of like 3 uniques I want from this set.
Most of the others are horrible like Zola. Baron Blood has the potentially devastating Charge, BCF combo. He has a 10 movement and a 10 attack. He has one click of Impervious and then one of Invulnerability. He also has toughness and battle fury, but you won't carry him anyway since he flies.
He also has the Hydra TA so he can help the rest of your team with their ranged attacks. He also has steal energy so if he can't make it to a medic he can just suck the blood of one of your opponents figs. He is not bad for
92 points. If you pull him play him, just be careful in games of 300 points or less. Although imagine him and a rookie paramedic in 100 pointers. How will tey stop his Impervious?

Today we are going to be looking at the newly previewed Baron Blood from Fantastic Forces

Back from the days where orins could be ridiculous Lord John Farnsworth was bitten by Dracula…yes Dracula.  Later instead of fighting for London he joined Hydra and the Nazis and then started sucking for the Nazis.  Which makes sense, because the Nazis do suck.

Cost and Abilities:

Unique 95 points.  0 range Hydra Team Ability.

Movement: 10 with charge for three clicks.

Attack:  10 with blades claws for two clicks.  The steal energy for the rest of the dial.

Defense:  16 with impervious.  Next 16 with invulnerability.  Toughness down the rest of the dial.

Damage:  2 with the always horrible Battle Fury.

Sculpt:  Woah, those are some angry purple wings.

Team Ability:  Hydra is an underrated ability.  Plus 1 to attack is a pretty nice bonus.  But it is a terrible ability for a close combat character to have.

Feats:  In Contact with Oracle can help boost the charge and then the defense.  Damage Shield is not a terrible idea.  You’re going to be in close combat and he can absorb a lot of damage and with his steal energy he will keep coming back to hurt you.

Battle Field Condition :  I guess Power Dampening Field is nice for him.  He’ll be using blade claws and he will minus two because of his defense.  This will insure that he stays around longer.  I also recommend Deep Shadows to limit people hitting you from really far away.

How to Beat Him:  Light him up from far away.  When you hit him, hit him a few times to take him out.  With steal energy he’ll keep coming back at you.

How to Play Him:  Telekinesis him is the most important part of your team.  You have to push him out there and get him that first attack.  Probability control on your team to get that really good blades claws roll.

Overview: The person to compare him too is Sauron.  A flyer with charge, steal energy and blades/claws.  I’ve played with Sauron several times and he never was as good as I thought he would be.  Baron blood is better then Sauron and I don’t doubt that.  Baron blood has a very nice defense ability, but does not have as good of attack, nor is he as cheap.  I do like him though.  He is very interesting, but can not get above a three because he has no range and his attack is low for the point cost.

Overall Score:

2/5 300 Points

3/5 400 Points

3./5 500 Points
