Today's review is Iron Man from Mutations and Monsters

Hey there Pojo faithful, after a long hiatus I am back.  Let’s just say that a steady schedule of full time job and night class kills anyone’s free time.  I know I have said it before, but I will try to keep up a little more than I have been recently.

Also, for those who were confused about my article that was posted, it was for the YuGiOh page.

ALSO, welcome to Iron Man week, in celebration of the movie.  I don’t know about you, but I think it is going to be awesome, and is worth only have 3 hours of sleep for work to see.

This is Iron Man from the Marvel Zombies storyline….something I really need to get around to reading.

He is a Super Rare, 70 points, 8 range 1 target, 6 clicks of life, a flier, and no team

Speed:  Nothing, even the numbers aren’t great…that sucks

Attack:  Decent numbers…pretty consistent actually...EE sucks with 1 target, Steal Energy has its uses, but is going to be tough to pull off anything with 1 damage at that point

Defense:  Standard numbers, stays pretty decent from range, steal energy and ESD is a real bad combo

Damage:  Low, but 4 clicks of perplex is great

The Good:  4 clicks of perplex

      …he can taxi

      Decent attack numbers

The Bad:   No movement powers

     Not enough damage

     Bad power combinations

Doesn’t do anything special to help a team

Feats:   Armor Piercing is a necessity, since you need it for the EE and SE.  Besides that I really would not waste the points, and even then AP is risky…do you really want him to be 80 points?

Overall:   Really, there is nothing special about this guy, and the only reason to ever really want him is to be that rich guy who runs the marvel zombies team.  All the perplex works great, and on a monster team he could help out, but he is just too many points for too little.  Back in the day Vulture, ICWO, and Oracle on the card could basically do the same job for a lot less points, but the glory days of old are gone…and we are left with this.

Constructed/Unrestricted:  1.5 / 5 (perplex only reason)

Sealed/Draft: 3 / 5 (perplexing taxi plus the bragging rights of pulling him)

Overall:  2 / 5

Heroclix….they’re cool, addictive, and available….the things practically sell themselves.”

Speed  -- Iron Man is a flyer, so he's required to get himself around the board. But since he brings zero speed powers to assist him, he becomes a sitting duck.

Attack  -- 10 is a relief. Too bad he loses it next click! Phew, Steal Energy is another relief. Too bad he's built for ranged combat!

Defense  -- Glad to see a couple 17's. Energy Shield upgrades the lower values shown towards the end of the dial.

Damage  -- You might as well Perplex his speed to run away faster. How fast can the sitting duck escape the hunters? Not that quickly, seeing as Battle Fury pops up right as Iron Man is about to become extinct.

Sculpt  -- Iron Man looks as crooked as his dial.

 Feats?  I'll pass.

Was I too bitter? Let's just hope the Iron Man movie is better than this!
