Team: Avengers
Range: 6 x 1

Dial:
http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figures_dials.asp?dialid=10565&unitid=12000&universeid=4

With his extendable limbs, Leap/Climb is fitting for Machine Man here, and his robotic body translates to Super Strength as well. Unfortunately, without
move+attack powers and only Toughness to protect him,
he might not get a great shot at ever using that heavy object he might've yanked out from under a stealthed foe. But the ability for a below-70-point fig to deal
5 clicks is never a bad thing, especially one as mobile as Aaron Stack here. And with Plasticity later he can hold shooters at bay while late-dial he can get out of dodge and help his teammates with Perplex. I just wish that mid-dial Force Blast had been more Plasticity or L/C.

Feats:
THUNDERBOLTS is a must for any teammates he'll be supporting. PASSENGER could help him double-team a target, while pushing him immediately to Plasticity to maximize his tie-up ability. A rare instance of truly thematic NANOBOTS works throughout nearly his whole dial. And while it only fits for three clicks (and makes him awfully expensive), TRICK SHOT could be a rude surprise for an opponent.

Themes/Comic accuracy:
A sometime Avenger, he's currently appearing in the gonzo super-team Nextwave along with Pulsar/Monica Rambeau and Meltdown/Tabitha Smith. As a robot, he also fits technological themes. As for accuracy, Machine Man's never been a powerhouse but he comes through in the clutch all right.

In sum:
Definitely not a centerpiece or even a solid 3rd-string attacker, Machine Man is still of surprising utility as a distraction or tie-up piece before converting to support or clean-up roles.

Rating: 3/5.

Speed:  Hmm…L/C only works good frontloaded if you are either a steal/outwitter or a pouncer.  He is neither, so that hurts, Plasticity can be good for tieing up, and force blast sucks

Attack:  Low but consistent numbers, super strength is useless without Pounce, HSS, or Charge

Defense:  Low numbers (I guess we’re done with 9/17 for now), but toughness can kep him around a little longer

Damage:  Not bad, always stays high enough to hurt anyone, perplex is always great

The Good:  Avengers team

      Perplex always helps

Kind of mobile, and can be a decent secondary attacker

The Bad:   No move and shoot

Attack and defense numbers are kind of low

Nothing really special about this guy

6 range is not great, neither is 1 range, but at least were not wasting points on incap and EE

Feats:   ICWO is a must, T-bolts or Alpha Flight are also musts,  Nanobots can help him heal, Entangle is alright if you want to use it, but I don’t think it is on the dial long enough to warrant it

Overall:    This guy is a pretty cool addition to the set, and actually is not a bad secondary attacker.  The only bad thing about this guy is there are much better choices out there for a secondary attacker.  Blackfire, Bullseye, and Mockingbird are much better choices to fill this spot.  He is not bad, but his stats just don’t make him a must-play piece.   Overall, not bad, not great, but it could be a pretty cool piece.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 2.5 / 5

Sealed/Draft:  2 / 5

Overall: 2.5 / 5

Today's Click of the Day is Machine Man
Unique from Supernova

A former X-Men member, Machine Man switched to Avengers to be captured by the S.H.I.E.L.D. for his technology use for making a new Deathlok. Let's just hope Wizkids doesn't find the comic again and make another Deathlok too.

He is 63 points; Grounded; Avengers Team; 6 Range; 1 Bolt
         l        l        l       l        l       l         l         l            l            l
 10    9      8     8     9     8     8       KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
19     9      9     8     8     8     8       KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
 16    16    16   15    15   14    14     KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
 3      3      3    2      2     2     2      KO    KO    KO    KO    KO

Speed looks accurate. Lots of very high numbers for only 63 points. Leap/Climb is best at the end of the dial.

Attack is 9... again. Lots of HeroClix have 9 attack nowadays so everything somewhat balances out. I'll take that Super Strength with Plasticity.

Defense seems to slip near-death. No damage reducers when he's Leaping away means wide open targeting.

Damage stays great for the points. 3 with Super Strength can instantly smack 5 clicks off an opponent and that late Perplex is always worth the surprise.

Sculpt -- I just hope I don't break off his fragile robot leg when I click him damage.

Machine Man seems decent to me. The guy can be used a lot of different ways but are any of these strategies even good? They're good, but he'll need as much support as a 1st attacker, and of course he's not. In Contact as always and maybe Nanobots but try out Alpha Flight; it is free points after all. Use him once and a while.. maybe you'll be lucky.

Machine Man rates: 3/5
