Team: Legion of Super-Heroes
Keywords: Future, Legion of Super-Heroes, Teen
Range: 10 x 2

DIAL:

ANALYSIS:
With sorry stats and limited powers, the old Live Wire from Cosmic Justice was a weakling without the right team abilities to wildcard. Not so with Lightning Lad!
He sports far better Attack Value and range to start.
Energy Explosion and two targets is a great combo, especially with Running Shot. Second slot shifts to Pulse Wave, which could be useful if a foe tries closing on him to get around his Energy Shield/Deflection, but you really want him using that long range to his benefit. Don't try for a Pulse Wave unless you KNOW he can't be hit back.

The back half of his dial, aside from the return of EE, resembles his CJ incarnations way too closely.
That is, he's got Range Combat Expert wasted on a low AV and a DV that's way too easily tagged. So again, if you're playing Garth Ranzz here, you'd better field some team abilities to wildcard.

FEATS?
Double EE and 10 range means ARMOR PIERCING should go on him every time. Or if you're more defensive-minded, consider HEIGHTENED REFLEXES to boost his chances against the move+attack tactics most foes will need to attack him from his sniper's position. In unrestricted games, FORCE FIELD might be a better choice to lengthen his 6-click dial.

IN SUM:
No longer the one-trick (shot) pony Live Wire from Cosmic Justice, this newly rechristened Lightning Lad is a solid shooter for the Legion...for half his dial, anyway.

Speed:  HEY…MOVE AND SHOOT!!  Two of it to be exact

Attack:   Not abd, not great, but EE works good with 2 targets, and pulse wave is always good.  Its nice to see Pulse wave some place other than the 7 attack slot we normally do

Defense:  Eh…18 from range is alright…but still…nothing too great

Damage:  Hey…upfront 3’s with the move and shoot.  RCE keeps him going late dial

The Good:  10 range 2 targets

       Double target EE

       Pulse Wave

       Wildcard

       Pretty decent attacker overall

The Bad:  Defense aint great

                Attack gets pretty low

Feats:  Nanobots is all I would use, and protected helps

Overall:  Hey, looks like good things do come to those who wait.  After Abomination and those other two LoSH figs, I was starting to get scared.  Here we get an example of a good secondary attacker.  2 upfront clicks of Running Shot with decent values, the powers work with the running shot, the double target helps, and the 3 damage means he can actually hurt pieces.  Overall, I like him.  Granted, he may not live to the end of the game, but park him in hindering and that’s a 19 to hit.  The 10 range can keep him sniping, and the wildcard teams gives a ton of possibility.  I like him overall, by no means game breaking, but can work pretty well in a fight.

Constructed/Unrestricted:  3.25 / 5

Sealed/Draft:  N/A / 5

Overall:    3.25 / 5
