Today we'll be reviewing Electro from Sinister

I love Ultimates, but the bald Electro that they made in Ultimates does not ring my bell.  This is the Electro that I remember, Ridiculous Lightening Costume, Ridiculous Colors, Ridiculously Powerful and Ridiculously Easily Beaten by Spider-man.

Rookie: 30 points, Sinister Syndicate Team

Experienced:  49 points, Sinister Syndicate Team

Veteran:  81 points, No Team

Who is the Best The rookie is just terrible.  The experienced is not very playable, but workable on a theme team.  The clear winner is…  Winner:  Veteran

MOVEMENT:   Last time I checked Running Shot is great.  However, only four Running Shot is not that great.

ATTACK: 10 attack with PULSEWAVE!!!  Wow, then Psychic Blast with three damage and finishing off with a powerful ending Pulse wave.  His deep middle clicks are terrible, but he is only 80 points.

DEFENSE:  15 with Energy Shield gives him a respectable 17.  He has Willpower so he can run away to Nanobots and lots of nice defensive spikes.  The 17 spike is exactly where he would be if he Nova Blasts, which is very nice.

DAMAGE:  3 with Ranged Combat Expert gives you some nice options, but I’d rather have 4 damage.  Ranged Combat Expert at the end keeps him deadly… if you can hit.

SCULPT: I would have liked to see some electric bolts.

FEAT CARDS:  Nova Blast comes to mind. He has the nice attack, damage and defense so Incontact is not as necessary here.  I would keep him as cheap as you can, but if you must Nanobots will keep him lethal.

OVERALL:

*       Nice Defense, Attack and Damage

*       No team Ability

*       A Small Running Shot, but still has it

*       Him not flying and that may actually be better

*       8 range is decent

*       The three targets will only be useful for the Psychic Blast Clicks and Energy Explosion, but it will never see use in his first click

Electro is a pretty good; he has everything that makes a character deadly.  Yet Electro is a victim of better characters doing the same thing.  Why play Electro instead of Emerald Empress?  For 20 points more you get the same stats with a higher Running Shot, damage and actually damage reduction.  If you’re using him as a Trick Shot expert why not use Dr. Light who is the same price, but is also a Wild Card and has a higher defense.

He’s good, just not good enough.

HE RECEIVES 3.5 OUT OF A POSSIBLE 5 THUMBS UP!

Good, Bad, I’m the Guy with the Clix

Dario Electro

Hello everyone! Today is the turn of another R/E/V from Sinister: Electro.
This guy is a pretty well known Spidey enemy. The costs vary significantly
between each version. The Rookie is no flyer and has no Archenemy (and
neither do the others). He’s 30 points and for that you get Anti Spider Man
TA, 6 range 1 target and 5 clicks of life which only have some Energy
Explosion, Psychic Blast and Poison, and low values all over. This version
should never be played. The Experienced jumps up to 49 points, and for that
you once get the TA, but now you get one extra click of life, 8 range 2
targets (nice improvement!). His powers are now 2 clicks of Energy
Explosion, 2 of Psychic Blast and ends with 2 Pulse Wave. He also has Energy

Shield/Deflection on his 2nd and 3rd clicks, and RCE on his 2nd, 5th and 6th

clicks. This one is a lot nicer, but I wouldn’t use him due to lack of move
and shot and because his less than stellar attack values. Finally the
Veteran, at 81 points he loses the TA and keeps the 8 range, but gets 3
targets. He also has 6 clicks of health. I consider him a better option over

the Exp due to stats and powers, but I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t
agree. So, here’s the review of the V:

Stats:

Speed: 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 6. 1st and 2nd clicks have Running Shot and that’s all

Attack: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 10. Starts with Pulse Wave then follows Psychic
Blast for 2 clicks, then Energy Explosion for other 2 clicks and ends with
one click of Pulse Wave.

Defense: 15, 16, 17, 16, 15, 15. 1st click has Energy Shield/Deflection, 4th

and 5th have Willpower, and that’s it.

Damage: 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2. RCE on his 1st, 5th and 6th clicks.

Analysis: Interesting 2nd string attacker. His Pulse Wave at the beginning
and the end are at least and interesting choice and a nice threat, if
nothing else (don’t you dare put Nova Blast on this guy) Energy Explosion
with 3 targets and at an 8 range is very nice, but given the attack values
he has there, it’s almost useless. Psychic Blast is a good option on his on
his second click if they Outwit your RCE and it’s useful on the 3rd , ‘cuz
RCE is gone. The Running Shot at the beginning lets him get into position
while shooting. His defense is average… he’s never easy to heal and the
Willpower it’s pretty much useless where it is set.

Conclusion: Not much to say about this guy. He seems good, but also is Vet.
Punisher and a lot of other guys near his cost. And there are even better (V

Hawkeye from FF) But he’s not crap, not at all. Go ahead and give him a try.

Ranking:

100 – 1/5 Forget it
200 – 1.75/5 Still not his place
300 – 2.75/5 Here he may fit
400+ – 2.95/5

Today's review is Electro from Sinister

Wow, old school enemy here.  This is the 616 Universe version. He has been battling Spider-man for the longest time, and is a former member of the Sinister Six.  I wasn’t too impressed with his old click, let’s see how Sinister treats him.

Best is the Veteran

He comes in at 81 Points, 8 range 3 targets, 6 clicks of life, and has no team

Speed: 8,8,7,7,7,6  Running Shot first two

Attack: 10,9,8,7,6,10  Pulse Wave first, Psychic Blast next 2, EE next two, then pulse wave

Defense: 15,16,17,16,15,14  ESD first click, then Willpower clicks 4-5

Damage: 3,3,2,2,2,2  RCE first and last two

The Good: Pulse Wave and 3 targets….WOW

                     EE with three targets….AWESOME

                     Psy Blast and Running Shot….NICE

                     Pulse Wave and three targets…HELLO

3 targets means you have many chances to hit

                     Nice attack values

                     Basically great combos

The Bad:   Defense is a little tough to deal with

Feats:  Protected is a must, Nanobots could work, so could Life model Decoy,  ICWO is always good and hey….why not Nova Blast?  Armor Piercing could help those EE clicks, but his attack is so low then it isn’t worth it.

Overall:  This click is amazing….simply amazing.  Take everything you love about FF V Hawkeye….and add pulse wave.  The range is decent, 3 targets is amazing, and all the power combos work.  He will be on so many teams it is ridiculous, and he will be played for a long…long….time.  Nova Blast teams have a really good secondary cheap Novablaster now.  Oh man….Emerald Empress and Electro…..oh man.  Amazing piece…’nuff said.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 5 / 5

Sealed/Draft: 4.5 / 5

Overall: 5 / 5
