Necro-M Anaconda

Anaconda (or b Manacondab as we refer to her around the shop) is basically a junk piece. Personally I don't think plasticity is worthwhile on figures with low defensive powers. The only use I can see is tossing Anaconda out to tie up another figure. But her dial is way too shallow for the job and the toughness on the upper end is really a joke. With only 7 movement on her veteran version, the Serpent Society (SS) TA doesn't really help that much.
Compare her to Shadowcat (experienced). Kitty has a great defense, super sense, and can fly. Anaconda has none of this. Both essentially have flying.
Shadowcat is a good support at 33 points. Even the rookie of Anaconda is 41 points, has horrible stats, and in general is a waste of points. She'll never get to user super strength because one or two hits and she'll be down to a last click. Toss this in the junk box with her sister-in-arms Princess Python.

Rating: 2/10

Rookie Anaconda  - 41 points

Experienced Anaconda – 53 points

Veteran Anaconda – 62 points

Moveability  - Rookie Anaconda only starts with a Speed of 6, which is pretty mundane.   Don’t expect her to get around the board very fast.  Aquatic is one of those abilities that is only useful once every blue moon since only a few maps have water.  Still it doesn’t add a whole lot to the cost of a figure so it’s pretty much a wash.  She has 5 clicks of Plasticity, which isn’t as powerful as it should be.  If you want to break away it helps, and if you want to tie up figures without Leap / Climb, or Phasing it helps, but otherwise it’s a waste.   The Experienced and Veteran gets their staring Speed increased to 7, but it’s still not anything to write home about.

Attackability – The Rookie gets a starting Attack of 9, which is not too shabby for a 41-point character and she keeps it for 2 clicks. Also her Attack never drops below 7.  Her Range of 0 can be overcome by using her Super Strength to chuck items.  The Experienced gets a starting Attack of 10, which is above average for her cost, and the Veteran gets to keep the 10 for 2 clicks.

Damage – Starting damage of 2 with Super Strength is solid for the Rookie and she keeps this for 2 clicks. On the third click she gains Incapacitate so use it wisely on figures with strong Defensive powers to make them take push damage. The Experienced gets the Damage of 2 for 3 clicks, but otherwise is identical. The Veteran gets a starting Damage of 3, which means she can do 5 clicks with a Heavy Object! Not bad for a 62 point character.

Defendability – The Rookie and Experienced start with a 15 Defense and keep it for 2 clicks.  Toughness helps take a little bit of a bite out of the mundane Defense, but not much. The Veteran gets a Defense of 16 to start, but still only has 2 clicks of Toughness.

Miscalaneous - The Serpent Society Team Ability basically redundant on this figure.  The weak Speed makes her mobility limited, and with Plasticity it’s not that hard to break away anyway. I would have preferred to see just the TA and get rid of the Plasticity.   Her sculpt is scary because at first I thought it was a guy until I read her bio.  Yikes!

Playability – In smaller games the Rookie and Experienced can hold their own, but they will be quickly overwhelmed in larger games. The Veteran is the only one I would suggest using over a 300-point game.   Overall she is not a great figure, but her good Attack and good Damage can be nice.   The Serpent Society TA comes in handy on indoor maps.  Pick up an object, walk through a wall and smash someone with it.

Overall Score: (Out of 10.  Score of: 4 = horrible, 5 = below average, 6 = slightly above average, 7 = great, 8 = outstanding)

Rookie Anaconda – 5.75

Experienced Anaconda – 5.75

Veteran Anaconda – 6.25
