Here's Aquaman

Way, way back in the Golden Age of comics, first came Superman, then Batman and Wonder Woman, and then the countless lesser super-heroes that were all basically spin-offs of Superman, albeit with only one or two of his powers. 'Round about 1941 they were scraping the bottom of the barrell with Aquaman. I mean before him we got the Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Starman, the Atom, and the rest of the Justice Society. Namor was already established over at Timely, so I guess National Periodicals had to keep up. Anyway, if you don't know, Aquaman is the King of Atlantis and a super-hero with the power to control the sea-creatures. Oh yeah, he used to run with the Justice League, he had his own sidekick (the
appropriately named Aqualad), he had is own series, but not until the 60's. Oh and he's had almost as many different origins as Hawkman.

This limited edition "alter-ego" is Arthur Curry, the onshore non de plume of Aquaman. He costs a whopping 10 points more than the veteran version, but you get so, so much more. First, you get one extra click of health, and in addition to Super-Strength you get Toughness, Close Combat Expert and Willpower. You do
lose leadership, but I'd gladly trade one for three. 54 points isn't much for this guy, and if you're lucky to grab him use him.

Arthur is a LE4, which is supposed to be fairly tough to get...we've seen him sell on Ebay for between $20 and $40 recently. Again, LE's are nice when you win a tournament, but I don't understand the fascination with them. Sure I'd like to get a couple, but I'm not going out of my way to search for 'em.

My Ratings:
Playability 4 of 5
Collectability 4 of 5
IronMan1110 Arthur Curry:

Hmmmm... not bad. He doesn't suck, I'll say that. 11 attack w/ super strength, 3 damage. Willpower for a while, then some toughness. At the end of his dial, a bit of CCE to ensure that he never does less than 2 clicks. Not bad at all.

DayCreeper ARTHUR CURRY:

This guy is real interesting, hails from DC and is also in the Justice League Society, so lets see how good this guy REALLY is......

His speed is really boring, 7 with no powers, that's just dullsville. the attack gets a little nicer, 11 with super strength most of the way can get those forklifts doin' some damage. This guy just cries out "push me!" with his 15 defense and willpower most of the way along with a hint of toughness and the end. everybody loves good damage, this guy can put some big dents in superman himself. with a starting damage of 3, then lowers to 2, then 1, with close combat expert, making it 3 damage again!

What a week of pure power, huh guys? For only 51 points, I say play him Arthur your next game, that is, if you can find him somewhere near you............

Casual: 4.5/5
Tournament Play: 3.5/5
Sculpt: 3/5
