Warren Worthington III
First Appearance - Uncanny X-Men #1. Does that spell it out for you? Well it
should. A FOUNDING member of the X-Men, Warren is a rich kid who discovered
he was growing wings, and thus dubbed himself "Angel". After being an X-man
for years, he got caught up in a scheme by Apocalypse to take over the world
(or some such), he was brainwashed, and became a Horseman of Apocalypse. His
wings were sheared off, and he got mechanical ones. Then he was Death. Still
later, he got his own wings back, and now goes by the name Archangel. This
is the LE Alter Ego version, just as all the LE's are.
Cost: 71. Range 6 Attacks: 2. Health: 7 Clicks.
Flyer, X-Men Team.
SSADD: 12/9/15/2. Powers: Running Shot (1 click), Incapacitate, Energy
Shield/Deflection.
Personally I'm enamored of flying clix with ranged attacks. They're just so
nasty, but add a click of running shot, and he's downright deadly. Ithink
the big advantage of this Archangel variation over his REV version is those
2 ranged attacks, only the far weaker EXP version has ranged attacks, and
that one doesn't have the X-Men ability.
Even though I think the Spider-Man/Venom combo are the best sculpts in
Critical Mass, I think Archangel gets my vote for next best. It's a
beautiful piece, though he's frickken' huge!
LE Prices for Critical Mass aren't really set yet.
This LE has sold for a very reasonable $20-$35 so far.
I'll bet prices go up as players realize how special this figure is. This is
a spectacular LE, that I would love to own.

Yo CotD readers Im back for a quick review of the LE
Archangel.

This is just your average clix. He has some decent stats in places, but
others stats are lack-luster.
12 Running shot w/6 range is probably the best part of this guy (he also has
hover/soar so that does help) He also packs incapacitate and E/S/D for added
ranged defense.
The verdict: An okay Clix.
100: 3/5
200: 2.5/5 There are simply better clix in his point value range
300: 2.5/5 Same here
300+: 3/5 More figs means his hover/soar might be worth more.
Sealed/Draft: ?/5 How do you even get this guy again?
Sculpt: 5/5 It does look really awesome. |
