Deck Mechs,
I've
been using a quid/creature deck for some time now, and one day I got a booster
box. I pulled together this deck to test out a handful of Diagon Alley cards
(namely items). This deck has won every match except for 3 or 4 when I didn't
get enough lessons. This deck is fully charged at 4 lessons, when self-stirring
cauldron is played. (Self-stirrer + Draco, Slytherin = 2 extra actions!) Try to
play an item a turn to take advantage of Draco's power.

The
owls can recover the lessons and item cards you will have to discard. This deck
is extremely fast when played right (in other words, get the cauldron out!) I
have gotten out at least one Self-stirring Cauldron and Moonseed Poison in
every game I've played so far! Enjoy!

I
do like your deck. It has some real potential. I’m not sure you actually used
it’s full potential the way you had it, but these changes will light the fire
in this deck. Let’s see if we can get you going here.
CHARACTER: Duh!
GREAT CHOICE!
LOCATIONS:
Well, Emporium is not necessary here. You have plenty of creatures so if you
want you deck to come off better add one more shop and burn both of the
Emporiums.
SPELLS:
Since you are using Draco-Slyth there no sense in even having the Bruisewort
Balm.
ITEMS:
Uni-Horn, add one. Next equal your books to 2 each, because you just never know
how you will draw. I know you did this per your lesson distribution but we’ll
be changing that some. Beetle and Eel Eyes go to 2 each. Moonseed in your deck
needs all 4 of them.
CREATURES:
This is where you need the adjustment to make things work for you. You items
are your killers, so you want a supporting cast to those and, not 2 offenses at
full force. Your deck is low in lessons (which is OK!) but, we need you to be
able to play more cards when a shortage of lessons happen. Fluffy, Hebridian
Black, and Cobra Lilly…C-ya! Let’s work you on the 4, 5, and 6 power creatures.
Quintaped, Boa, Doxy, & Fox are going to get you on the bored fast and put
them on the defense to give you time to Eyeball them. It won’t be necessary to
get the big creatures out. Owls…Tawny is better so more of them are needed. And
since we are not separate for lessons anymore, Screech is good bye.
LESSONS:
Hey no more losses of lessons by your creatures, so 9 each will work.
After
some very interesting play testing, here is the report on the new look of your
deck! I call it Draco’s BirdSeed effect. The Moonseed/Owl/CShop recycling is
vicious! The smaller creatures out early did keep my opponents busy while I set
up that effect. It was SWEEEEET! Also, If Trans-Test is played keep you
Quintaped out even over your Fox! They all do damage, but in this deck that is
not their primary purpose. The real purpose is to keep your opponent occupied
while you set up either the EyeBall or BirdSeed effects. Plus with no spells in
your deck you are now free to avoid adventures such as, 4 Privet Drive, Gaze,
and other like that.
This
is a fantastic deck. You should be proud Zack! It was not only fun to work on,
but it was also turned out to be one of the best decks that have ever come out
of my garage. GREAT JOB ZACK!
NOTE:
To those of you who just copy decks and don’t learn from them, try creating
your own combos and effects. Learn the effects but don’t just use other
people’s decks. That is what really makes this game fun. Zack worked hard on
his deck and doesn’t need 20 clones out there using it.
