Its coincidentally the deck I discovered the day the TCG came out in the US: Beatdown, but now Beatdown QC: Special. You'll see why its Special ;/ This deck is incredibly fast and forms an awesome wall against Potions and Quidditch, which I knew people would play. I won't tell you exactly what's in it, but you'll see how it does. To be honest, I knew my big competition was my best friend Mike. I taught him everything he knows, though I think I taught him too much. He's a great player, and its always a close game with him. My other friend, Tyler, is great too, but not quite at the peak of his skills. They both have bought a box of QC, while I've only bought 14 packs, needless to say, I'm at a huge disadvantage resource wise. The other player, Zane, doesn't have much cards but has adequate playing skills. Me, well, during only when the Base Set was out, my friends called me the Angel of Death. Nowadays they've been really getting close to beating me, Mike even winning to me a few times. Enuf blabbing, let's get to the tourney: Round 1: Me Vs. Zane This was probably the fastest and easiest game I ever played before, though I did get hit a little. He started with a weak Quidditch and CoMC offensive(those were his types ;p), which I got rid of quickly, thanks to Gaze Into The Mirror and Stream of Flames(both great cards, I recommend using them). Before I knew it, I got Reubus Hagrid out with 2 Cunning Foxes and a Mountain Troll. 16 damage total. With the fact that I had 2 Steelclaw in my hand, I think you know what happened. I don't think I ever did that much damage in one turn. 48 damage total, if my math is any good. He practically cried, but was a good sport about it. That sorta boosted my confidence and I needed it, being that I was playing Mike. Round 2: Me(1-0) Vs. Mike(1-0) Mike, very cocky, makes fun of my strange deck choices. I felt pity for him afterwards though ;p He put in a really strong Quidditch offense, and me without a Gaze in sight (excuse the pun). I was oddly defensive, using Streams to get those wolves out of there. Then I realized halfway through the game that he had no defense against Creatures. I felt a bit stupid, but then I ranked on him with a Charms Exam on his 12 card hand, plus 2 Mountain Trolls and 2 Guard Dog (Hagrid out too ;/). That shut him up. Round 3: Me(2-0) Vs. Tyler(1-1) I knew I had already made it into the finals, but I just wanted to get to the finals with a perfect record. Tyler used a Potions/Quidditch/Trans. deck. He got annoying when he Fouled a lot, but I completely shut him down with Gaze Into the Mirror. He finally solved it 3 turns later, after I already had 2 Guard Dogs out with a late game Hagrid. Then I played Gaze Into the Mirror again. At a point in the game during my turn, Tyler looks at his hand, grins in a secretive sorta way and shows Mike his hand. Mike, sort of stupidly says, "Awesome hand!" which is not wise to say, especially when the other player has a Charms Exam in his hand. I easily Charms Examed him, which made Tyler really pissed at Mike since he had 2 Malevolent Mixtures and a Draught with 8 Potions lessons in play, but that's another story. My Guard Dogs and Mountain Trolls, resurrected with Halloween Feast, got him in the end. Finals: Me(3-0) Vs. Mike(2-1) Okay, this was it. I had an okay starting hand, lacking lessons. It took me some time to start up, and Mike already had a good hold on me with 2 wolves out and some Quidditch spells. When he played Into the Forbidden Forest, I thought I was done for. But I came through with some lucky Incarcifors draws, and I turned the tables with a Mountain Troll, Guard Dog, and Cunning Fox with Hagrid out. I won by only 10-15 cards, but I was happy. Winner: Me 4-0 I got my 12 packs and I got some good cards, but none that could help my deck much. I liked the competition, though it was so few. If anyone that lives in Suffolk county, NY that plays HP and that would like to compete, call Rich at (631) 281-0554. Props To Mike and Tyler for not killing each other in the car To Rich for holding the tourney while teaching people how to play LotR =/ Slops To the stupid kids at the store saying HP is gay(bet ya in 2 weeks they'll be playing it ;/) Thanks for reading, Professor Lupin
