Character Bios: Shou Tucker

He was formerly known as the Sewing Life Alchemist (another translation of his name is "Stitching" so it can be assumed that Sewing is his title, as in he stitches life into the chimeras he creates). He became famous after producing a chimera that could speak, if only one sentence; 'I want to die'. The chimera eventually starved itself to death. Tucker hosted the Elric brothers while they studied for the State Alchemist exams until Ed found out that Shou used his wife to create the chimera. To keep his position as a State Alchemist and pressured by Basque Grand, Shou used his daughter Nina, and the family dog, Alexander, in the creation of a new talking chimera. When the Elric brothers arrived too late to stop him, Shou explained to an enraged Ed that he would have lost Nina either way and has no one to comfort him, and that as a scientist, he can't help but try what might be possible; he points out that Ed himself attempted forbidden human transmutation.

Tucker was reportedly sentenced to death by the military, to cover up the truth of the talking chimeras and General Grand's involvement. But in reality, he was sent to the 5th Laboratory to continue his research in Grand's super soldier project. He was offered a chance to try and resurrect Nina on his spare time. But the obsession and set-backs eventually turned Tucker into a hideous beast-man chimera himself; he suffered the fate he gave his own wife and daughter. His head was turned upside down, his voice became low & raspy, part of his human arms were fused onto his new skin, and he had paws for arms and legs, though he could still hold things. (How his glasses stay on even though his ears are upside down is a mystery, but it could be possible that his glasses were fused to his face.)

After his failed attempts to revive Nina, he joined up with the Homunculi with the promise to create a homunculus in the form of his daughter, with his memories of her to serve as basis for her. Paranoid and very unstable, Tucker joined up with anyone who could offer him the protection needed to complete his goal. He joined with Greed's group briefly, most likely on the promise that he could give Greed the immortality that Greed desired, as well as serve as a doctor of the other chimeras serving Greed. But then, Shou quickly accepted Frank Archer's offer to rejoin the military under his command when Greed was forced to flee the Devil's Nest. Using his newfound military privileges in return for building an army of Chimeras for Archer and the Fuhrer, Tucker used his research to create lifeless dolls in Nina's image. Learning that Al became a vessel for the Philosopher's Stone, he deceived the boy by offering to teach him how to master the Stone, but in reality, he used Al to create a fake soul to imprint his memories of Nina onto his doll. It didn't work as Tucker intended, and he is driven further into madness. Tucker was last seen drawing alchemy arrays on a wall with the Nina doll in his arms, either bent on bringing his daughter back or trying relive the happy times before his daughter became a victim of his research.
