Pojo's Fullmetal Alchemist News

What is the color of Greed?

Find a home for FMA’s slippery sin

January 3, 2007 (CHARLOTTE, NC) -- “Greed is good.” It’s a now-classic line that originally appeared in the 1987 movie Wall Street. Michael Douglas probably wasn’t referring to Fullmetal Alchemist’s stubborn sin when he delivered that immortal line -- but was he right? Can a being born of forbidden alchemy and nurtured by an evil mastermind actually be a force for good? Or will he walk the path of malice and corruption, ligning himself with the powers of evil? That, gentle reader (and Fullmetal Alchemist TCG player), is for you to decide.

The card you see on this page is noteworthy, in that it will never be printed. You will never own an unaligned Greed ally card with those attributes and game text. You might, on the other hand, obtain that same card, but on an Elric background. Or maybe he’ll be Military…or Homunculus…or Rebel. The possibilities are endless! (OK, so they actually end at four possibilities.)

Starting January 15 and running until April 1, tournament organizers will be able to mark their tournaments as “Color of Greed” events. The tournaments will run like normal, but when the TO reports it, he will need to send the winner’s faction to colorofgreed@presspassinc.com.

In April, after all the Color of Greed tournaments have been run and the results compiled, we’ll tally up the results, and the faction that won the most tournaments will get Greed printed in their faction’s colors! This Greed card will appear in a future expansion set as an Elric, Homunculus, Military, or Rebel card, depending on how you play and how many tournaments you can win for your favorite faction!

As if competing for Greed wasn’t enough, each Color of Greed prize kit will also include two copies of Alphonse Elric, Light on His Feet as additional prize support. So not only will you have the chance to shape FMA TCG design, but you’ll also be able to get your hands on a hot promo card that’s only been available (so far) in limited quantities! As always, tournaments should be registered on the Gamers’ Round Table site at least 21 days in advance to guarantee prize support.

So, are you up to the challenge? Do you have enough greed to win Greed for your favorite faction? Register your next tournament as a Color of Greed tournament today!

A few details about Color of Greed tournaments:

A winning Rose Thomas deck counts as both Elric and Rebel and will be reported as such. Likewise, a winning Pride deck counts as both Military and Homunculus.

A winning Majhal or Dante, Reclusive Herbalist deck does not count for any faction. Greed will not be printed unaligned.

All tournaments must be reported via the tournament reporting web site.
