JoyRide Entertainment celebrates Gen Con with first Fullmetal Alchemist TCG World Championships

August 4, 2006. Last year, Gen Con Indy was the big coming-out party for JoyRide Entertainment and the Fullmetal Alchemist TCG. Next week, JoyRide will culminate FMA TCG's fantastic first year with another jam-packed Gen Con, including the first annual Fullmetal Alchemist TCG World Championships!

If you haven't already qualified for Worlds, you can do so in one of five qualifying events on Thursday, Aug. 10 or Friday, Aug. 11; the top 20% finishers in each event (minimum four) will qualify for the World Championships. The main event itself starts Saturday, Aug. 12 (all entrants are required to submit their deck lists by 10:50 a.m.), with the final rounds the morning of Sunday, Aug. 13. There are a bunch of other cool tournament events taking place all weekend, including Alchemists' Gate preview tournaments and an Alchemists' Challenge tournament Friday night where you can play against the JoyRide staffers and win a display box of cards if you beat them! Just head for the North Club Lounge to get in on the action!

If tournament action isn't your cup of tea, stop by the JoyRide booth (#1227) for demos, promo cards, gunslinging, or just to hang out with fellow FMA TCG players. Oh, and did we mention Alchemists' Gate? Yes, you can buy the new expansion for Fullmetal Alchemist TCG at the JoyRide booth, limit one display box/12 packs per person per day. Supplies are limited, so shop early and shop often!

The Transmutation binders will also be offered at Gen Con, so if you haven't picked one up yet, this will be the last convention where you can get your hands on one. This is also the first time that cards for the Alchemists' Brotherhood will be offered for sale, with a special tournament only for Alchemists' Brotherhood members on Sunday.

Finally, JoyRide will be extending its "buy a box, get a transmutation card" offer this year, but with a little difference. First, the minimum purchase is 24 packs, all purchased at one time. Second, you'll get a random transmutation card from Alchemists' Gate, virtually guaranteeing that you won't get a card you already have. And, as always, you can get a free heavy-duty (HD) leader card for every $20 you spend at the JoyRide booth.

Gen Con Indy should be a blast, and JoyRide will be at the center of it all, with great events and promotions for Fullmetal Alchemist TCG!
