JoyRide Entertainment announces charity tournament series

11.15.06

"Brother...am I scary?"

"Please - you're kindness in a can!"

-- Alphonse & Edward Elric

In the spirit of Alphonse Elric, JoyRide Entertainment and tournament players around the world would like to help fight hunger this holiday season. Starting Dec. 1, 2006 and running until Jan. 14, 2007, Fullmetal Alchemist TCG Tournament Organizers can run a "Kindness in a Can" FMA TCG Charity Tournament.

The "Kindness in a Can" FMA TCG tournament is simple way for players around the world to have a great time playing FMA TCG and fight hunger at the same time. Players bring four cans of food to a KIAC tournament. Each round, a player risks a can of food against his opponent. The winner of that game earns their opponent's can. At the end of the tournament, each player turns in his can of food to the tournament organizer for great prizes. The Tournament Organizer then donates all of the cans of food to his local food bank to help the needy this Holiday season.

The prizes for a "Kindness in a Can" FMA TCG Tournaments are some of the most sought-after cards in print for FMA TCG. Here's a rundown of the prizes each tournament will receive:

1x random FMA TCG autograph card from A Hero's Passing, Alchemists' Gate, or Seven Deadly Sins

2x Lust, Artificial Human

2x Alphonse Elric, False Memories

1x Looking Back

1x Goodbye

1x Zolf J. Kimbley, Mercenary

1x Gone Fishin'

1x Scar, The Weight of Duty

In addition the above prizes, each tournament will receive 10 random chase cards for participation prizes. Also, one additional random FMA TCG autograph card will be provided for the person who brings the most total cans of food to the tournament. At the end of the tournament, the tournament organizer will host an auction for the prizes and each player bids cans of food earned throughout the tournament for each different promo card. It's recommended that each tournament be only three rounds, so each player has at least one can of food left at the end of the tournament for the prize auction.

"Kindness in a Can" FMA TCG Tournaments are free to run for any retailer, State Alchemist, or FMA TCG Tournament Organizer. All the person hosting the event must do is list the tournament as a "Kindness in a Can" tournament at http://joyride.gamersroundtable.com/ and e-mail kindnessinacan@joyride-ent.com with the tournament details to have the event flagged in the Special Tournament section and receive the free prize support. Please register your tournament two weeks in advance to receive the prize-support kit. Each venue or Tournament Organizer may run one "Kindness in a Can" FMA TCG Tournament per week. JoyRide Entertainment will help local retailers and Tournament Organizers locate their nearest food bank to donate the cans of food. E-mail kindnessinacan@joyride-ent.com with any questions.
