Top 10 Light cards - by Exploding Pidgeons Well, now I've decided to make Top 10 Lists for each Civilization...... Starting with Light, then Water, then Dark, then Fire, then Nature. Sound good? Alright then, let's get going. But first, just so you know, these are just my opinions. They are not stone-cold "fact", so you can substitute my judgment of these cards for your own. Although, considering there are only 22 Light cards total at this point, I'm only singling out 12 cards....-_-;; Now that we have the crap out of the way, here we go: What I perceive to be the Top 10 Light Civilization cards! (#10) RAYLA, TRUTH ENFORCER: This card is a bit overrated, but it's still pretty useful. It's expensive (6 mana!) and it's not that strong (power of 3000) BUT the effect to search your deck for any Spell you want is pretty good. I really dont see why people diss this card........But maybe I'm just weird like that. This card is best used with Holy Awe. >=) Let's see, I think I'll tap all your creatures and break all of your Shields....But more on that later into the List. (#9) FREI, VIZIER OF AIR: Wait, I can untap myself? Why, thank you! And I didnt even need Toel's help to do so! 4 mana isn't as expensive as Toel, and the fact that Frei can untap itself BY itself is pretty neat. (#8) SONIC WING: Anything that is unBlockable is good, and this card gives just that. If used on a Hanusa, watch out! That's a 9500 power, Double Breaker, Unblockable monster out there. It basically turns any big Light monster into an insta-King Depthcon. Of course, this card isn't as useful in Light as it could be in other Civilizations because a LOT of Light creatures arent even able to attack, they mostly Block. (#7) SENATINE, JADE TREE: 3 mana for 4000 and Blocker is a good deal, even though Senatine wont last too long in the late game, if you can get him out on Turn 3 he'll stick around and defend for a while. (#6) SZUBS KIN, TWILIGHT GUARDIAN: Light is really good at Blocking, and Szubs Kin is Light's second biggest Blocker, (the biggest being Gran Gure, of course) but Szubs Kin is still nothing to scoff at...... Paying 5 and getting 6000 is a good trade, even if Szubs cant attack players. He can still ward off the majority of big attackers. (#5) URTH, PURIFYING ELEMENTAL: Urth can untap himself, which is pretty great, but he has that ability tacked onto Double Breaker and a 6-for-6000 ratio of power, which is a pretty cheap ratio. I prefer Hanusa to Urth, but Urth is probably a better overall card.....Hanusa, however, adds the needed bit of offense for a mainly defensive Light Civilization. The main problem with Urth is that if you run into a deck with a Gatling Skyterror or a Death Smoke, Urth is ALWAYS in danger of getting killed. On the other hand, he can attack and then be ready to Block on your next turn, and 6000 isn't too shabby when it comes to Blocking. (#4) LA URA GIGA, SKY GUARDIAN: I love this card, mainly because it's almost free! 1 mana is SO cheap... The main thing that makes this guy good is that you can lay him out on the very first turn and have a defense ready in case you run into a Deadly Fighter Braid Claw on the opponent's first turn or something. That, and like all Blockers he can re-direct attacks toward himself. I'd say he's pretty much a Staple in Light decks at this point......I include 4 of him in my Light / Water deck, and he works wonders for me. (#3) HANUSA, RADIANCE ELEMENTAL: This is a pretty simple card....7 mana for 9500 units of pure, raw POWER!! And Double Breaker!! Although at times he isn't as practical as Urth, once Hanusa gets out there is rarely anything that can stop him, at least as far as creatures are concerned. Some people prefer Urth over Hanusa, but I prefer Hanusa over Urth just because he's the most powerful creature in the game right now. (#2) GRAN GURE, SPACE GUARDIAN: Why is this card good? I'll answer that question with another question... Why are you asking such a stupid question? 6 mana for a 9000-power Blocker is almost too good to be true. Get this guy out, and you have the ultimate defense weapon.....The only things it cant Block are a powered-up Bolshack Dragon, Astrocomet Dragon, Hanusa and Roaring Great Horn. That's it. Everything else can be absorbed by this big fattie. Of course, the opponent can just Terror Pit it the next turn, but hey! You've still got them down by 6 mana and they lost some hand advantage! ^^;; (#1) HOLY AWE: Yeah, it's Holy Awe AGAIN. Isn't this thing on almost every single stinkin' Top 10 List? But anyway, it REALLY is THAT good. Tapping all of the opponent's monsters may not seem like a whole lot, but think of the card text as reading this instead: "Break all of your opponent's Shields." Because that's really what it ends up doing half of the time. This card just will get even better as the series goes on, especially when we get into Triple Breaker territory. Play this, you Break 3 Shields. Simple as that. ****************** Well, there you have it. The Top 10 Light Civilzation cards, in my opinion. :) Of course, this will be updated later when the EVO set comes out. ^_~ Peace in! ~Exploding Pidgeons~ E-mail: explodingpidgeons@juno.com ***I will ALWAYS E-mail you back!!***
