Hello everyone and welcome back
to another week of card reviews here on Pojo.com!
You'll definitely want to stay tuned this week for
something special... not sure if I can say any more
than that or not! ;) Anyway, today's card is one in
a cycle of the marks. Let's take a look at Mark of
Eternal Haven.
Name: Mark of Eternal
Haven
Civilization: Light
Type: Spell
Race: N/A
Level: 8
Power: N/A
Flavor Text: "Queen Eternal Haven insisted on
further analysis to determine if your species is
capable." -Princess Sasha
Rarity: Rare
Set Number: 4/80 l 9SHA
Abilities:
Choose one:
* Put a creature named Eternal Haven from your hand
into the battle zone.
* Draw a card. Then you may put a non-evolution
creature that is level 7 or less and has "Blocker"
from your hand into the battle zone.
The "Mark" cards haven't really
been known for being playable outside of Kalima's;
this is no different. For 8 mana, you can "cheat"
Eternal Haven into play as long as it's in your
hand. If you don't happen to have Haven in hand, you
could always use the other ability and draw a card
and put a level 7 or less Blocker into the battle
zone. Overall, there are better options.
I suppose if you're using mana
ramp in general you can potentially get out Haven by
turn five or six if you're using the Mark.
Otherwise, you're essentially playing a level 7 or
less Blocker for 8 mana with the slight upside of
drawing a card. I think it would have been
appropriate to be able to play a level 9 or less
Blocker with this card, as it would only advance you
one turn by utilizing this card.
Cards in general that require
you to focus on one specific card usually aren't
cards you want to play. There could be potential in
the future if we get some other crazy cards or some
other "Eternal Haven." Overall though, this card
will likely not see play unless you can manage to
maintain a huge hand and have the Mark as well as
Haven in your hand.
Constructed: 1.75/5.00
(In Haven Ramp you might be able to get out a turn
five or six Haven... only reason to attempt to play
this card.)
Limited: 1.00/5.00 (Sorry guys, I can't go
any lower than 1.00 for my rating. In limited this
card is horrible and in order for it to be even
really playable, you need to pull a Haven from one
of your packs which is near impossible as is.)
Make sure to stop by again
tomorrow for more reviews and stay tuned for
something special later in the week! Until
next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm
and game on!
