Welcome back my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters! In case you’re interested, Invasion
Earth has been uploaded to Trade Cards Online, so
you can start preparing for the upcoming set. Also
there were another set of KMCs this weekend and it
turns out that my Mono-Darkness Kalima deck has been
gaining popularity! There were slight variations of
the deck in the top eight in California, the top two
in Maine, and there were two in South Carolina’s top
four! I’m ecstatic to see the deck making huge
strides in the community and I can’t wait to see
what the future has in store for the deck! Okay,
Halloween is over now… that means all of those
pumpkins that were sitting out are probably going to
be thrown away or smashed. It only seems appropriate
that we cover Haunted Harvest today, so join me as
we pay our last respects to the Great Pumpkin and
other various vegetables!
Name: Haunted Harvest
Civilization: Darkness/Nature
Type: Creature
Race: Evil Toy/Wild Veggie
Level: 4
Power: 3000
Flavor Text: N/A
Rarity: Common
Set Number: 76/80 l 9SHA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Blocker (You may tap this creature to change
an enemy creature’s attack to this creature.)
Guard- (This creature can’t attack.)
Nutritious- Whenever this creature blocks,
you may put the top card of your deck into your mana
zone
Haunted Harvest is a level 4
Blocker with 3000 power. He has an ability that
allows you to charge a mana from the top of your
deck to your mana zone whenever it would block a
creature. Overall this isn’t a bad effect, however,
I would like to see a little more staying power
instead of just the measly 3000 that it does have.
Being that this card is a level
4, I would expect this to have at least 4000 power
or maybe an additional effect that when it would be
banished, it would go to your mana zone instead like
our other veggie Blockers out there. With the
ability to simply put the top card of your deck to
the mana zone when it blocks... it's more likely
that you'll only get to use this effect one time if
at all. There are too many cards right now that can
banish this card or even bounce it back to your
hand. In a best case scenario this card is a
stronger version of Bronze-Arm Tribe with Blocker. I
suppose if you get Kalima and this card out you have
an amazing Blocker, however, you should be winning
by then anyway.
Overall, this card isn't as
great as it's Wild Veggie predecessors. Full-Metal
Lemon and Bloomwarden just do it better and for less
mana. The card art is really neat and I love the
color combination, but that shouldn't justify you
using this card over your other options.
Constructed: 1.75/5.00
(There are just better Blockers out there.)
Limited: 3.25/5.00 (Blockers are great in
limited, especially when they can ramp you up to
your next turn.)
I hope you enjoyed today's
review! Make sure to check out my article on Alter
Reality Games’ website and until next time my fellow
Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
