Hello everyone and welcome to
another eventful day here at Pojo.com! Today we are
reviewing a card that is all about justice and
revenge. Typically people say revenge is a dish best
served cold and I think it’s convenient that justice
would be the same way (just-ice). Anywho, enough
with my bad puns, onto today’s card, Alcadeus,
Winged Justice!
Name: Alcadeus, Winged Justice
Civilization: Light
Type:
Creature
Race: Skyforce Champion
Level: 7
Power: 6000
Flavor Text:
Kneel and hold your breath for Light’s Judgment.
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
S1/S5 l 2DED
Abilities:
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Infuse with
Light- Whenever this creature attacks, choose
one of your creatures that is level 5 or less and
untap it.
Alcadeus is by far one of the
coolest looking creatures to come out of the Dojo
set! He looks pretty basic for his level as he has
Double Breaker and 6000 power. His other ability,
Infuse with Light, allows him to untap a creature
that has already attacked once before, as long as
that creature is Level 5 or less.
I’ve already talked about this
combo numerous times by now, however, keep in mind
that by combining this card, Twilight Commander, and
Magma Madness, you can potentially have an endless
stream of attacks coming at your opponent! Outside
of this combo, it can allow your lower level
skirmisher blockers to attack creatures and then
untap with Alcadeus’ effect so they can readily
block on the next turn. There are also a few cards
that have Double Breaker that are Level 5 or less
and they could benefit from Alcadeus’ effect.
Alcadeus is one of those
creatures that you need to invest in if you want to
play him. Being a Level 7, you may have to wait
patiently to get his effect off effectively. Even
so, since he can’t attack the turn he enters the
battle zone, he’s susceptible to banishment on your
opponent’s following turn.
He also shares the Skyforce
Champion race which is
neat but
they don’t have a ton of effective support outside
of Starlight Strategist or the Ra-Vu evolution card.
He’s far better in a sealed environment or a deck
that focuses on the “Endless Attack” combo; not much
else to discuss until further support comes out for
Skyforce Champions.
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.75/5.00 (An alright card that can prove to be
annoying when it starts untapping other creatures
allowing you to attack multiple times in a given
turn. Cards like Bolt-Tail and Bronze-Arm Sabertooth
easily deal with this card.)
Limited: 3.00/5.00 (This card can prove to be annoying to face,
however, his lower level of power is relatively easy
to deal with by turn seven in the game.)
