Hello again my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters! It’s Wednesday and we’re bringing you
another General from the new Clash of the Duel
Masters starter decks. Today’s card has amazing
potential; let’s take a look at General Finbarr.
Name: General Finbarr
Civilization: Water
Type:
Creature
Race: Cyber Lord
Level: 6
Power: 4000
Flavor Text:
“Witness our message to Fire. Our superior
weapon will easily wash the volcano-ship out of the
sky.”
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
D1/D2 l 7CLA
Abilities:
Finbarr’s Hoverhex- When this creature enters
the battle zone, you may return target creature from
the battle zone to its owner’s hand.
Finbarr’s
Command- Whenever one of your other creatures
attacks, you may draw a card.
Where yesterday’s card had raw
power and the ability to make your other creatures
stronger, Finbarr focuses on getting rid of a threat
no matter how big it may be (or maybe even setting
up a combo on your side of the board). He also likes
to give your other creatures the ability to draw
when they attack!
Looking at Finbarr’s stats we
see that he is 4000 power for a level 6. I think
this card could be more useful if it had an
additional 1000 power to be able to trade with some
stronger creatures or to avoid summoning
restrictions with Infernus the Awakened. Regardless,
he has built in removal very similar to what we’ve
seen in Rusalka, Aqua Chaser.
Enter Finbarr’s Command. This
effect is really good! Imagine turning all of your
creatures into Aqua Seneschals! Well, now you can!
What makes this even better is being able to play
this, bounce a blocker from your opponent’s side of
the battle zone and then freely swinging with the
creatures that you already had out. If you combo
this card with Gigastand you create a huge advantage
against your opponent since you’ll be discarding a
card from your opponent and drawing one for you at
the same time! This effect will even make your Aqua
Seneschals or Emperor Neurons have the ability to
draw two cards when they attack… who needs Logos
Scan anymore?! What makes this even better is that
the effect to draw is optional, so no need to worry
about decking yourself out!
Overall this is a great card
that adds support for water users and “Blurple”
users alike. I personally need to pick up a couple
of these guys still since my area didn’t have them
in stock until recently. Expect to see this card
sneak its way into decks in the near future.
Ratings:
Constructed: 4.00/5.00 (Another great card that will see some play
in some tournament level decks!)
Limited: 3.75/5.00 (Temporary removal and all of your guys can draw
you a card. It could be a little bit stronger
though.)
Stop back again tomorrow as we splash into another
clash review! Until
next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm
and game on!
