Hello again my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters! Welcome back to Pojo.com’s Card of the
Day! I’ve been busy working at developing a deck for
the Pennsylvania KMC in just 12 short days and
today’s card keeps tugging at me to give him a try.
Not so sure that I will since it would change my
deck completely but time will tell. Onto today’s
card, Shadeblaze the Corruptor.
Name: Shadeblaze the Corruptor
Civilization: Darkness/Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Terror Dragon/Armored Dragon
Level: 8
Power: 11000
Flavor Text:
N/A
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
S9/S10 l 7CLA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Wither- When this creature enters the battle
zone, target enemy creature gets -2000 power until
the end of the turn. (A creature that has power 0 or
less is banished.)
Provoke-
Whenever another creature is banished, all your
creatures get “Fast Attack” until the end of the
turn.
Shadeblaze was one of my
favorite cards when the set was first spoiled just
because of his amazing artwork. After taking a look
at his stats and effects I wasn’t sure on how much
play this card would be seeing, but in the right
deck this card can prove to be really good if not
insane!
Shadeblaze is a level 8 with
11000 power. He ties up with Issyl in this
department but has some extra potential with his
“Wither” ability. When he enters the battle zone,
you target an enemy creature and it loses 2000
power. If for some reason it would reach 0 power, it
would be banished.
So this allows you to potentially get rid of
some smaller creatures in the battle zone or to
weaken an opponent’s creature enough so that you can
have another creature take it down.
Let’s say that you used
Shadeblaze’s “Wither” ability and banished a bird.
Congratulations! You just activated his second
ability “Provoke”! Now
every single
creature you control has “Fast Attack”! This can
change the pace of the game in an instant! Let’s say
Shadeblaze was just played and you weakened their
Andromeda. If necessary you could ram one of your
smaller creatures into it so that the blaze can
finish him off! It doesn’t matter what side of the
battle zone the creature falls, either way it
activates his “Provoke” ability. One combo you can
use with this card involves Gigabolver or Marrow
Ooze. You play one of those and the following turn
you can play Shadeblaze. Once you attack with Giga
or Ooze it becomes banished giving all of your
creature (yet again) “Fast Attack,” all for just one
mana!
Generally speaking, if you play
this card right, your creatures will be attacking
every turn… unless your opponent doesn’t play any
creatures! It’s a fairly solid card that may see
some play off and on.
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.50/5.00 (Not horrible when he hits the battle zone
but being able to have your creatures attack the
turn they enter the battle zone can be devastating!)
Limited: 3.75/5.00 (As long as you can get this card out by turn
eight, this is a very solid card that only makes
your other cards better.)
See you all tomorrow when we take a look at an
alternative to Tatsurion the Unchained… “Generally”
speaking. Until
next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm
and game on!
