Welcome back my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters! In case you haven't been keeping up with some recently released information, there has been word of several locations receiving a KMC for the Fall/Winter season! Most of this information was revealed on the Kaijudo Dojo page on Facebook, so check it out and see if your area has been given a KMC yet! Today we're taking a look at a very powerful card if used effectively. It can easily fit into a lot of decks and may just give you the edge you need in battle! Let's take a look at Freakish Test Subject!

Name: Freakish Test Subject
Civilization:
Water/Darkness
Type: Creature
Race:
Cyber Lord/Chimera
Level:
3
Power:
1000
Flavor Text: Experiments can go too far.
Rarity: Uncommon
Set Number: 89/110 l 7CLA

Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Slayer
(When this creature loses a battle, banish the other creature.)
Warped Reality- This creature can't be blocked.

Is it just me or does this card remind you of "Big Daddy" from Bioshock? As a Water/Darkness player myself, I was fairly excited to see more support for the "Blurple" type deck. This card is basically "Skull Cutter 2.0". They both cost three mana to play and they both have Slayer. The biggest difference is that Test Subject is a Dual-Civilization card and is also unblockable.

Generally I think that Slayers are an archetype that doesn't get a lot of attention. They are essentially a removal spell in the form of a creature. Why wouldn't someone want to play a potential Terror Pit for three mana? Even if you start attacking your opponent's shields and leave your creature vulnerable, it's going to likely get rid of a creature or resource in the process. Late game it can force your opponent to use their removal spells to get rid of this tiny creature, after all, if you don't deal with it then you won't be able to stop it from attacking you when you don't have any shields left!

Let's not forget that this card is also a Cyber Lord and a Chimera! This guy is just screaming to be used in a deck focusing on both of those races. Hydra Medusa and Emperor Neuron are great choices to use alongside this card and it can keep your opponent guessing constantly if you have either Evolution creature in your hand.

The biggest downside to this card however has to be its lower power level. With only 1000 power it's susceptible to Barrage, Suffocate, Shadeblaze, and even Heat Seekers. Let's not forget that if your opponent has out Infernus the Awakened, you won't even be able to play this card!

Overall though, this card has a ton of potential and can freely choose whatever tapped creature it wants to banish and get rid of it with ease. I think this card or Slayer decks in general have the potential to be a competitive deck given the right person is piloting the deck. Maybe I'll give it a try myself this week? If I do, I will post a deck profile on my channel, so stay tuned!

Ratings:

Constructed: 3.50/5.00 (Any creature that goes head to head with this guy is going down with him!)
Limited: 4.25/5.00 (It's a creature, it's a removal spell, it's unblockable!)

Stop by again tomorrow when we take a look at another card that fits well in a Darkness deck! Make sure to check out my channel for new content and until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!

Card Name: Freakish Test Subject

Mana Cost: 3

Civilization: Water/Darkness

Race: Cyber Lord/Chimera

Card Type: Creature

Power: 1000

Rarity: Uncommon

Card Number: 89/110

Card Set: 7CLA

Card Text: (This card enters your mana zone tapped.)

Slayer (When this creature loses a battle, banish the other creature.)

Warped Reality - This creature can’t be blocked.

Freakish Test Subject is a combination of two level three cards.  Memory Swarm is a level 3 Water creature with “This creature can’t be blocked.” and 1000 power.  Skull Cutter is a level 3 Darkness creature with slayer and 1000 power.  This combination of these two creatures powers and civilizations on one card is enough reason to play this card.  The races were changed from Cyber Virus and Dread Mask to Cyber Lord and Chimera, which make this new card even more relevant to play.

I really like the Water/Darkness cards in Clash, and Freakish Test Subject is one of my favorites.  This card has a lot going for it.  It is a Cyber Lord and can fit in very nicely in a Cyber Lord built deck to evolve into Neuron.  It also is a Chimera and allows you to evolve it into Hydra Medusa.  These are currently two of the best races on one card.  Freakish Test Subject can be worked into a variety of decks that run Water and Darkness.

A nice strategy that can be used with this card is to use the fact that it can’t be blocked and attack the biggest threat on the opponent’s side of the field.  The slayer ability will then banish the opponent’s creature.  At a mana cost of 3 it is very easy to get on the field, and is not bad for a creature that is unblockable and can destroy any tapped creature on your opponents side.  Also if your opponent does not have any creatures go ahead and break a shield with this card.  Unless the opponent plays a fast attack creature on their next turn you will still be able to attack their creature the turn after they attack you.

This deck can be utilized in an aggressive build deck and also in a ton of control deck that runs Water and Darkness.  The main downside for this card is all creature removal spells besides Comet Missile take it out.  It will also have a target on it because your opponent does not want you to attack unblocked and potentially banish one of their creatures.

Constructed: 4.5/5

Limited: 4.5/5
