Hello again my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters! Welcome to Pojo.com's Card of the Day
for Friday July 26, 2013! We're wrapping up this
week with the last exclusive from the Triple Strike
deck series with one of my favorite creatures,(not
necessarily this specific card) Scaradorable! In
this incarnation we see Squeaky going wild and we
didn't even have to offer him any beads! Alright,
let's get on to today's card: Feral Scaradorable!
Name: Feral Scaradorable
Civilization: Darkness
Type:
Creature
Race: Chimera
Level: 5
Power: 5000
Flavor Text:
"Squeaky! Go wild!" -Allie
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
D2/D3 l 8TRI
Abilities:
Mindshred-
At the end of each of your turns, if this creature
broke a shield that turn, your opponent puts the top
card of his or her deck into his or her discard
pile. If it's a spell, banish target enemy creature.
Otherwise, your opponent chooses and discards a
card.
Feral Scaradorable is a level 5
Chimera with 5000 power. There's no Double Breaker
added in to sweeten the pot, but if it did have it,
it could make this card kind of ridiculous. Squeaky
has one of those effects that is really interesting
but makes you wonder if you should play it or not.
Much like Magnet Mech or more specifically, Forklift
Tank Glu-urrgle, Scaradorable's ability activates
when she attacks and has a different outcome
depending on what card you "mill" or discard from
the top of your opponent's deck. If you discard a
spell you get to banish an enemy creature if it's
anything else, your opponent has to discard a card
of their choice from their hand.
So let's talk about
playability. A level 5 with 5000 power is to be
expected with most cards, however, this card won't
be able to attack until turn 6 unless you're using
cards like Steamtank Kryon or Jump Jets. This card
easily succumbs to Lyra, the Blazing Sun but at the
same time it can take down most Blockers that your
opponent will use. Realistically, it just comes down
to, "How often am I going to get her effect off?".
There are times even when you know your opponent has
a bigger creature that you may still need to attack
with this card in hopes of milling a spell card to
banish your opponent's bigger threat. Also, unless
you're playing against a player using Andromeda of
the Citadel (Who plays that card, right?!) you'll
only be breaking five shields, which doesn't leave
you much opportunity to utilize Scardorable's effect
as much as you'd like.
This card has some potential if
you combo it with cards that allow you to see what
your opponent's top card of their deck is and I can
see some fun combos with Alcadeus, Winged Justice,
but that involves a little more dedication to this
card than most will want to. If it was a level 4 or
had an effect that happened when it entered the
battle zone it would likely see more play but for
now I think it'll be more of a "Fun Card" that you
may see splashed around at your local tournament.
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.00/5.00 (It has potential to discard a card (why not
just use Gigastand?) or possibly banish a creature.
It'd be nice if you had the choice of which effect
to activate.)
Limited:
3.25/5.00 (It's nice to have a card that can rid
your opponent of their resources but it's easily
dealt with by the removal spells in the Triple
Strike deck.)
See you all again next week!
