Welcome back everyone to
Pojo.com's Card of the Day review! Make sure to stop
by my YouTube channel for new content from the
Pennsylvania KMC, including a couple top cut matches
and even a deck profile of the winning deck!
Alrighty, today's card is yet another one that you
will often see in a mono-red rush deck on turn one,
Jetflame Bodyguard.
Name: Jetflame Bodyguard
Civilization: Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Drakon
Level: 1
Power: 3000
Flavor Text:
Silent as statues, they stand beside Skycrusher,
bursting into action only when their lord commands.
Rarity:
Common
Set Number:
41/55 l 4EVO
Abilities:
Skirmisher (This creature can attack only
creatures.)
I'd rather see this hitting my
opponent's battle zone sooner than Blaze Belcher.
Mainly because this guy cannot attack any of my
shields as long as he's on the board. What makes
this card so good, is that it costs just one mana to
play, which is easy in any deck, especially rush. He
won't be getting banished by Barrage since his power
is hefty 3000, but he's still susceptible to every
other form of removal such as Heat Seekers, Bone
Blades, etc.
The other benefit of this guy
is that on turn two you can evolve him into the
Scaled Impaler or on turn three you can bring out
Burnclaw or Laser-Arm! If you ever get paired up in
a mirror match of Drakon VS Drakon, Jetflame can
easily dispose of most of your opponent's creatures
with little difficulty but it does require you to
wait for them to attack you first.
Overall, it isn't a bad card
but often an essential card in Drakons to allow for
Evolutions to be more efficient. If you see this hit
the board, expect bigger things to happen in the
very immediate future.
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.50/5.00 (The main reason this card is any good at all
is because it is extremely cheap evolution bait and
can fend off attacks early game, outside of that,
your deck has little room for him.)
Limited: 2.50/5.00 (If you're able to find the evolutions to go with
your Drakons in limited play, this card can be
amazing, otherwise, it can be a bad call.)
Stop out again tomorrow when we
