Welcome back my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters to another edition of Pojo.com’s Card
of the Day! Today we’re taking a look at arguably
the best shield blast to come from Clash of the Duel
Masters, Piercing Judgment. Let’s take a closer look
at the card and see if it lives up to the hype or if
it needs to go back to Planet Fitness (‘cause it’s a
“Judgement Free Zone”)! Yes I know… judgment is
spelled incorrectly in their slogan and it makes it
really hard not to judge them for that! Anywho, on
to the review!
Name: Piercing Judgment
Civilization: Light/Water
Type: Spell
Race: N/A
Level: 4
Power: N/A
Flavor Text: “You are beneath my contempt.”
Rarity: Rare
Set Number: 76/110 l 7CLA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Shield
Blast (Instead of putting this spell into your
hand from a broken shield, you may cast it for
free.)
Return target creature from the battle zone to its
owner’s hand.
Tap target enemy creature.
Piercing Judgment gives us two shield blasts in one,
Veil Vortex and Sunshock. It allows you to return
any creature on the board to the owners hand and
then tap an enemy creature. Plus this also helps you
fix your mana by adding those early Light and Water
colors to your mana pool.
What really makes this card
great is that it can save you from two attacks if
it’s hit while in your shields. It can completely
change the tide of battle and put things in your
favor assuming you have something to follow it up
with at least. The card can be used offensively just
as well. You can bounce any creature (including your
own if you want to reuse an effect) and then tap an
enemy creature, making this perfect for those
Skirmishers you may have on your side of the battle
zone. It also helps when your opponent doesn’t want
to attack you and can allow you to get rid of those
early birds that thought they were going to get the
dragon!
Much like yesterday’s card,
Judgment is able to deal with those early plays with
Bottle of Wishes and sends those gigantic creatures
back where they belong… away from the battle zone!
This card has already seen a ton of play in almost
every Water/Dark/Light deck out there and has made
some crazy combos possible as well. Imagine having
Keeper of Dawn out and you play this card. You
return Keeper to your hand and then tap down one of
their creatures and have another one of your
creatures finish it off. You’re set to infinitely
repeat this process as long as you have the
resources to do so! This card also makes it possible
to tap down a Keeper of Laws when your opponent has
only one other creature in the battle zone. Keeper
of Laws loses its protection ability when you get
rid of the other creature in play making it a prime
target for the tap tap revolution!
This is an amazing card that
you’ll be seeing for a long time to come.
Ratings:
Constructed: 4.50/5.00
(The card is really powerful for a Level 4 shield
blast and can give you the edge you need. This card
will continue to see play for years to come!)
Limited: 4.25/5.00
(Great removal and can set up combo plays that allow
you to take advantage of your opponent’s creatures
that aren’t attacking or may be slowing you down!)
Make sure you stop back
tomorrow when we take a look at an amazing board
wipe that may see more play in the upcoming months!
Until next time, keep calm and game on!
