Hello everyone and welcome back
to Pojo.com's Card of the Day! I had the pleasure of
being able to attend my first Kaijudo Master
Challenge this past Saturday and I had a great time!
I got to meet alot of the online community including
EarthP0w3R, CVH, Kaijudoscope, and I even had a
match against the winner of the Kentucky KMC, Brian
Durkin. Probably the biggest surprise of the weekend
was when I went up against a "Mono-Red" Rush deck
with my Megabugs. I swung in for game only to get
sideswiped by one of the three teched in copies of
Stormspark Blast! Shoutouts to Richard Zapp for that
mind-blowing moment! That game set me back with an
X-3 record and I finished at 25th place out of the
63 in attendance. Regardless, I still had a great
time and met a lot of great people! Make sure to
check out my YouTube channel for new content
including the winning deck profile and two feature
matches (one will be uploaded tonight)! Okay, I may
be a little salty this week about our reviews, but
let's get started with today's card, Blaze Belcher.
Name: Blaze Belcher
Civilization: Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Burn Belly
Level: 1
Power: 1000
Flavor Text:
"Quite the appetite, little friend." -The Choten
Rarity:
Common
Set Number:
103/165 l 3RIS
Abilities:
Hungry!- This creature attacks each turn if
able.
There's not a whole lot to say
about this level 1, 1000 power Burn Belly creature.
It doesn't have any Evolution forms and it doesn't
have any redeeming abilities. This card is meant to
do one thing and one thing only...
attack!
This is generally the "Go-To"
play when playing a Rush deck. This allows the
player to set up turn after turn of onslaughts
making your only concern, "Am I going to hit a
Bottle?" This guy punishes decks that don't run a
ton of shield blasts and also slower decks like
Greed Dragons.
The biggest downside to this
card is that he
must
attack every turn, even if that means banishing
himself! Rush doesn't like to lose advantage as
early as turn two, but a well timed Aqua Strider or
other 1-2 mana drop creature may just make you lose
your appetite!
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.00/5.00 (This card is generally only good on turn one
and if so, this card's rating would be boosted to a
4ish. Once it's done, this card likely will just go
to your mana.)
Limited: 3.25/5.00 (Rushing in on turn two can be very good in a
format without bottle, although be on the look out
for just about every other shield blast out there
like Barrage, Bone Blades, etc!)
Stop by tomorrow as we continue our rushed week! We
were so rushed that we'll only have time for two
more cards this week! Okay... maybe it's because of
the holiday. Make sure to check out my channel for
new content and until next time my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
