Happy Monday/Martin Luther King Day! Hopefully most
of you got time off from school or work to relax and
enjoy an extra-long weekend! Today’s Card of the Day
of our Evolution Line-Up Week is Laser-Arm Drakon;
let’s get started!
Laser-Arm Drakon is (not surprisingly) a Drakon. He
is a Level 3 Evolution Creature and has 4,000 Power.
His abilities consist of: “Powerful Attack +2,000
(while attacking, this creature gets +2,000 Power),”
and “Double Breaker”.
In a very “Drakon-centric” deck, this card can be
very difficult to deal with. The Drakons range from
Level 1-4 that you would probably ever consider
evolving this guy from. It is extremely reasonable
to say that you can get this guy out on turn three
and have two out on turn four; this guy is very
aggressive!
The fact that he has the ability to go up to 6,000
Power means that he can also deal with threats from
other creatures who may be presenting you with a
problem. So LAD is definitely a versatile card on
the aggro spectrum.
He does have some obvious weaknesses that can be
exploited since he’s Level 3; most shield blasts can
deal with him with ease. So I would hope that you
run a decent amount of them since this guy will
likely be breaking 2-4 all by himself!
Honestly, there really isn’t much else to say about
this guy. He is a really aggressive card that
requires you to base your deck more around Drakons.
If you’re running this card in your deck, you’re
probably planning on winning by turn 4-5; if your
opponent can find a way to disrupt your aggression
by getting rid of your Drakons before you can evolve
early in the game, you may be in some trouble. If
you combo this card with Blastforge Captain, you
have yourself quite the team. Blastforge also
happens to be a Drakon and is able to deal with any
pesky blockers while LAD deals with the shields.
Ratings:
Constructed:
3.50/5.00
(My rating’s based on using this in an
aggressive Drakon Rush deck. It is able to catch
your opponent off guard, especially if they are
using a slower control deck.)
Limited: 2.50/5.00
(Not so great in Limited unless there are a ton
of Drakons to use with this. Since it’s an evolution
it requires more set up in the Limited playing
field.)
Let’s just say that I’m not going to give you a
preview for tomorrow’s card… cause if I showed you
might just need a “Gold Needle” or a “Soft” if you
plan on doing anything for the rest of the day;
bring one tomorrow just in case!
