Welcome back everyone to Tuesday’s Card of the Day!
We continue the week with one of my favorite tech
choices and also one of the most potentially
devastating cards in the game; Today’s card is
Crimson Wyvern, let’s get started!
Crimson Wyvern is a Level 8 Attack Raptor with 3,000
Power and an ability called, “Block Buster,” which
states: “When this creature enters the battle zone,
banish all enemy creatures that have ‘Blocker.’”. A
very simple effect but immensely powerful!
When I use this guy, my intention is to play him
like I would a spell card. Late game when you’re
trying to get through all those blockers your
opponent has set up on the field, you drop this bad
boy and all of your other creatures get to swing
freely! What makes this card slightly better,
however, is the fact that it’s a creature; albeit a
ridiculously weak creature for 8 mana… but using an
ability that wipes the entire field of all blockers
from your opponent’s side is game breaking.
Obviously this isn’t for everyone but if you use it
with a couple of other Fire Civilization cards
(Bolt-Tail Dragon is one of my personal other
choices), you can tech him in when you need to swing
in at those shields for game. If you draw him early
game or you see that your opponent isn’t using any
blockers, then obviously you can just charge him to
your mana zone and use his red mana later for one of
your other teched in finishers like Bolt-Tail Dragon
or Tatsurion the Unchained. I’m still waiting for
the opportunity to use this guy against the
Evolution form of Ra-Vu so I can wipe my opponent’s
entire field off the board with one card!
Honestly, not much more to say about this card
really. I feel it can be a staple card to use when
playing against the Light Civilization and in some
cases, Water and Darkness as well; On average you’ll
be taking down 1-3 creatures when you play this card
but I’ve gotten rid of five before! Here’s a tip: If
you do use this to destroy their blockers… save the
removal spells in your deck for creatures that can
actually attack.
I’m not going to say this card is going to see a lot
of play or that people will think it’s all that
good… it’s an underrated card; give it a try and let
me know what you think on Twitter @Raijinku.
Ratings:
Constructed:
3.00/5.00(Sure
I’ll take a card that can annihilate all blockers on
my opponent’s side of the battle zone; this card is
Comet Missile’ s big brother!)
Limited: 2.50/5.00
(A great removal card to deal with those pesky
blockers but often times in limited will be a little
too slow with no other benefits to back it up.)
Stop back tomorrow when we go over another one of my
favorite tech cards from the Darkness Civilization;
you may want to bring some mints!

Crimson Wyvern
Crimson Wyvern is a creature that doesn't take no for an answer, when it wishes to go forward none may stand in its way. Armed to the claw, and as usual with Fire Civilization creatures, always ready to fight.
Crimson Wyvern
Cost: 8
Civilization: Fire
Type: Creature
Race: Attack Raptor
Power: 3000
Card Abilities:
Block Buster - When this creature enters the battle zone, banish all enemy creatures that have "blocker."
Crimson Wyvern may not always be the go to staple card that many are expecting of cards with higher ratings, but don't underrated how powerful this card can be. I've seen many games that appeared unwinnable suddenly end with Crimson Wyvern hitting the field and it's controller attacking into victory.
At 8 mana this creature is definitely costly, and with only 3000 power it doesn't quite carry it's own weight on the battlefield. What Crimson Wyvern does though is destroy all your opponent's blockers, leaving them incredibly vulnerable. Have you ever gotten your opponent to no shields but fell short of delivering the final blow due to an armada of blockers? Well Crimson Wyvern is a definite answer to that.
Though he likely won't appear as more than a 1-of on most lists, he does the job he's meant to do incredibly well. Never underestimate the power of cards that can grant a near limitless card advantage!

Crimson Wyvern
Civilization - Fire
Level - 8
Power- 3000
Block Buster - When this creature enters the battle zone, banish all enemy creatures that have "Blocker".
Crimson wyvern is certainly an interesting card, for the "low low" price of 8 mana he destroys all of your opponents blockers, and gives a 3000 power body.
Of course with an effect like that do you really care about the body? Your only going to use this when it wins you the game.
Much of what i said yesterday about roles goes into crimson wyvern as well, he only works against one type of deck(those that run lots of blockers.) and against any other deck isn't very good much much worse than waterspout gargoyle infact. What's more he isn't nearly as searchable as that card either as he isn't in water, nor does he have 5000 power.
Because of that, well pretty much just give him a pass, fire has much better tools for dealing with blockers than this thing.

Hello again, Kaijudo duelists! Gorby here with
another Card of the Day! We’re continuing our week
of Super Rare Spotlights with one of the Fire Super
Rares from Rise of the Duel Masters: Crimson Wyvern.
Let’s start, as usual, with a breakdown of the
card’s stats.
Name:
Crimson Wyvern
Civlization:
Fire
Race:
Attack Raptor
Cost: 8
Power:
3000
Ability:
Block Buster
Like yesterday’s Card of the Day, Waterspout
Gargoyle, the first noticeable thing about this card
is its cost: 8 mana. Also like yesterday’s card,
Crimson Wyvern suffers from a noticeable discrepancy
in the power-to-cost ratio, so we’re going to have
to focus on this card’s effect to determine how
we’re going to get the most out of this card.
Crimson Wyvern’s “Block Buster” ability states that
when he enters the battle zone, all of your
opponent’s creatures that have “Blocker” are
banished. On paper, this seems like a really cool
ability: it has the potential to clear out a huge
number of your opponent’s creatures. The problem
arises when your opponent doesn’t have the target
card necessary to make this effect worthwhile: it’s
generally going to be a one-for-one (maybe a
two-for-one), but most of the time, it’s probably
going to end up in your mana zone. You might be
saying “But Gorby, what about Terror Pit? It’s just
one mana less, and is only a one for one, and
Crimson Wyvern comes with a body and the potential
to banish more than one creature.” Very good point,
reader. But, Terror Pit has the capability to kill
any of your opponent’s creatures, not just their
blockers, which severely limits Crimson Wyvern’s
viability. I have heard tell of players getting
one-for-threes and higher with this card, but those
instances are very few and very far between, which
does not for a reliable card choice make.
IN REVIEW
Rating
(constructed): 1.5/5 – It’s so hard to get any
good, consistent use out of this card. Even compared
to yesterday’s Card of the Day, Waterspout Gargoyle
(a card that I myself admit is very niche at the
moment), this card just pales in comparison: it’s a
smaller body with a much less consistent effect.
Perhaps if Rally the Reserves decks become popular,
then this card might see more play, but as it
stands, this card just isn’t that strong of a choice
right now.
