Welcome to Tuesday’s Card of the Day at Pojo.com! I’ve been in the process of watching Kaijudo and I’m starting to get a feel for some of the characters in the series. Today we have a card that best expresses Gargle and his ability to build a useful tool out of random objects in order to deal with a given situation. Let’s see what Gargle’s got cooking in today’s card: Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle.

Name: Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle
Civilization:
Water
Type: Creature
Race:
Cyber Lord
Level:
6
Power:
4000
Flavor Text: “Big problem, big solution!” -Gargle
Rarity: Very Rare
Set Number:   16/55 l 4EVO

Abilities:

Pedal to the Metal- Whenever this creature attacks, you may have your opponent put the top card of his or her deck into his or her discard pile. If that card is a creature, return target enemy creature to your opponent’s hand. If that card isn’t a creature, draw a card.

When this card was first spoiled to the Kaijudo players of the world, it was extremely hyped. For some reason, it was a little too hyped and hasn’t really seen much play in my local community or online in general. It’s a Level 6 Cyber Lord with 4000 power with no immediate effect upon entering the battle zone and that might be why. We’ve been too spoiled with all of these ETB effects which take away from cards that have to sit there for a turn.

Forklift is one of the first couple cards that can theoretically mill your opponent to the point of decking out; however, it is extremely unlikely for this to occur with the lack of support for that type of deck for now. When he attacks you get to activate an effect depending on what card you send to the discard pile. If you get a creature, you can bounce back one of their creatures back to the owner’s hand; if it’s anything else, you can draw a card.

I suppose you could combo this with cards that allow you to look at the top of your opponent’s deck but that might seem a little impractical. Normally your opponent will have at least one creature in the battle zone anyway, so regardless of what you mill, you should get some effect to help you out one way or another. One neat trick that not everyone will realize at first is that his effect will activate before your opponent gets a chance to block. That means that you could potentially bounce their blocker back to their hand before they can do anything about it! You could also combo this card with Finbarr, Council of Logos to make Forklift a 6000 power creature only susceptible to Terror Pit/Root Trap or some big, bad, evolution creature.

At the very least this card can be a slightly larger version of Aqua Seneschal. It has twice as much power and twice the cost to cast. I suppose the best place for this card is in either a Cyber Lord deck or some control variant, outside of that I don’t really see this card seeing a ton of play and there are a lot of answers to deal with this invention (i.e. Neuron, Medusa, Tornado Flame, etc.).

Ratings:

Constructed: 2.25/5.00 (I’m planning on making a Cyber Lord deck to playtest with and this guy could put in some work with the assistance of Finbarr; otherwise, this card is just too slow for now. Maybe if they gave this card +2000 more power he could be more splashable.)

Limited: 1.75/5.00 (Sealed in Evo Fury means evolution creatures and that means that even if Forklift attacks and bounces their Bronze Arm Sabertooth to their hand, it’ll just come out the following turn to exact vengeance on Gargle.)

Check back tomorrow when we review Stephenie Meyer! Give it a few seconds and I’m sure you’ll get the reference! Until next time fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!

Welcome back to the Kaijudo Card of the Day section! Today we are looking at Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle. Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle is a level six Cyber Lord with 4000 power. Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle has the ability Pedal to the Metal, which allows you to put the top card of your opponents library into their discard pile when Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle attacks. If it is a creature card it goes to their hand, if not, you get to draw a card.
Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle has a double sided ability. It is either going to help you, or it will help your opponent. The card draw could be very useful, but your opponent gaining a card to their hand could be harmful. Knowing what they have going to their hand could be an advantage though as well, since you could attempt to prepare for it. At only 4000 power at a level six, you will likely only get a few swings in if you are lucky, so I guess just swing and hope for some card advantage while you can.

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 3/5

Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle Review:

Hey pojo!

The Card Academy here with another COTD. This time it's one of my favorite cards because I got to see this card dump salt all over Bobby Brake at OKC Box Tournament. So without futher ado.

Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle

Water

Cyber Lord

Cost: 6

Power: 4000

Pedal to the Metal — Whenever this creature attacks, you may have your opponent put the top card of his or her deck into his or her discard pile. If that card is a creature, return target enemy creature to your opponent's hand. If that card isn't a creature, draw a card.

Alright so lets dissect this effect. Alright so like other effect attackers (Gigastand, Razorhide, etc.) we resolve this effect before any blockers are selected to block so your opponent mills the top card and based on what it is we resolve the effect such as bouncing potential blockes or drawing a card.

So with that out of the way lets discuss what application this could be used in. Recently a Mono Blue deck took 2 Fork-Lift Tank Glu-urrgle to a huge box tournament win in Oklahoma City and I got to see some nifty tricks happen with this card. The most notable being its interatctions with Milporo, Council of Logos. The Mono Blue player used Milporo's effect to bounce a Keeper of Dawn to the top of his opponents deck and used forklift to clear out the blocker getting in the way. He removed two creatures and started clearing with way for attacks and got rid of that pesky Keeper of Dawn. All thanks to Forklift. Lets not ignore its effect to draw cards either or the fact that he is a Cyber Lord, although hefty costed, bu ya never know when the situation could arise.

Alright so now for the non niche applications. Right now there are only two cards that have the ability to send cards from the opponents deck that could allow for a "Deck Out" deck. This and Slyth. So who knows what cards down the road could allow for a deck out strategy.

Now for the not so great. Forklift is almost a 6 for 4000 vanilla. There are so many more 6 costs that are used to generate advantage or apply pressure instantly and generally better thank Forklift. Heck Dark Scaradorable for the same cost allows for pressure and forces your opponent to answer it or lose the game. But with the right applications and perhaps some future cards it might become better!

Summary:

Interesting card. More than likely will never see it in tradiational decks such as control, aggro, tempo, etc. but I'm just waiting for something to find a way to break it!

Constructed 1.5/5 (.5 for being a Cyber Lord)

Limited 1.5/5
