Welcome back my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters! I'd like to take a moment to welcome a new volunteer to the Kaijudo Card of the Day, Tyrone Cleveland! I look forward to seeing your reviews and having another dedicated writer on here! Alrighty, let's take a look at my number three pick for the top ten cards from Invasion Earth: Reverberate.

N/A

(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Draw a card for each shield you have.

REBERBERATE!!! That's one thing I remember saying on multiple occasions whenever I saw this card played at the winter championships; try it, it's a lot of fun! This is by far the best draw card that we have in the game so far. The card allows you to draw a card for each shield that you have, so there is potentially no limit to how many cards you can draw with Reverberate.

There are so many situations where this card simply changes the game entirely in your favor. In most control match-ups, both players generally sit there and build up their resources and board presence. This allows the opportunity for either player to cast Reverberate and draw five cards. Being able to go from 0-2 cards all the way up to 5-7 creates such a huge advantage, that it almost becomes impossible to lose at that point.

Being able to search for this card on turn four or five with Crystal Memory makes the card even crazier still. You simply use all of your resources to ramp your mana count, discard cards from your opponent, or throw a bunch of creatures on board, and then you refuel like it never happened. This was actually one of the ideas I had with my Kalima deck that I took to the championships.

Obviously this card can have its disadvantages too. For example, if you play against a tempo or rush style of a deck, it's likely that you won't get to draw more than 1-3 cards off of Reverberate. Even then, it may not be the best move. If your opponent is continuously coming at your shields, drawing a few extra cards isn't always going to solve the problem and may actually put you down a turn. You could have been playing creatures but instead opted to essentially "skip" your turn to get a few more cards instead. I'm not going to lie, I have played this card to draw one card, but when I literally had no other options to play, it just seemed better to essentially "cycle" the card to get something else that I could use or get to the cards that I needed to see in the deck.

I have been able to play this card to draw anywhere from 5-7 cards with the aid of cards like Serpens or Andromeda and I've played Reverberate back to back for even more advantage! There are a couple of things that you'll want to look out for though when using this card.

1. Don't deck yourself out! I know it should be self-explanatory, but sometimes people may get too greedy and decide that they might need more cards than they actually do... and then your opponent stalls you out with Andromedas!

2. Be prepared for cards to re-emerge like Skull Shatter. People don't want you to get such a huge advantage against them, so they're going to come up with alternatives to beat you. Cards like Skull Shatter are retro-active in how they work, because you're dealing with the problem after it's already occurred. Cards like Spinning Terror are more pro-active and will likely stop your opponent from playing that card in the first place... until they can at least get rid of it.

Constructed: 4.75/5.00 (The card is amazing and will change a game in an instant, unless you're playing against rush...)
Limited: 3.00/5.00 (Great card but a little slow if your opponent is building a corrupted strategy or trying to rush in at your shields.)

I hope you enjoyed number three on the list, stay tuned for numbers one and two! Also, be sure to check out my articles on Alter Reality Games page as well on every Monday!  Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!

Tyrone Cleveland

Hello to all of my fellow Kaijudo masters and newcomers alike. Today I have number three in the top ten cards from Invasion Earth. Today’s card has made waves in our meta as it appeared quite a few decks during the winter championship, including our reigning champ, Bobby Brake’s dragon deck and even in Mark Woodin’s Kalima Control build. So, let’s take a look at today’s card, Reverberate.

Name: Reverberate
Civilization
: Light/Water
Type
: Spell
Level
: 6
Flavor Text
: “Raiden, your gauntlet could provide you with valuable information…if you only focused harder.” –Specialist Isao
Rarity
: Rare
Set Number
: 39/80 | 10INV
Abilities
: (This card enters the mana zone tapped.) Draw a card for each shield you have.

Upon first seeing this card when Invasion Earth was released, it immediately drew my attention seeing that this level of draw power has only been seen on King Tritonus himself. If you have five shields by turn six and you play this card in a timely manner, you can pretty much overwhelm your opponent seeing that you are now so many turns ahead as far as hand advantage goes. Unless your opponent has an immediate answer to discard a good chunk, if not all the cards from your hand, it’s bound to be a long game for them.

This card can also be used in combination with card such as Andromeda, Cobalt, the Storm Knight as even Serpens, the Spirit Shifter as they allow you to have more than five shields, which means Reverberate will put more than five cards in your hand in one play! I think that’s crazy and super powerful. There is no other card in this game with that kind of draw power. I think this card is the most powerful in decks like Kalima Control seeing that it does not have much drawn power, but it can consistently strip the opponent of his or her hand, making Reverberate an optimal choice. There aren’t many things better than having a full hand while your opponent top decks.

Now don’t get me wrong, this card comes with downsides as well. As the card itself states, you only get to draw cards equal to the number of shields that you have and in my testing against aggressive strategies, Reverberate can become dead weight. If you can’t keep your opponent off your shields soon enough, Reverberate will turn into a turn six Logos Scan and at that point, you would much rather play Logos Scan for 3 mana. The card can also feel like dead weight in the late game when you need answers, but your deck is depleting and decking out becomes a factor. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can be a let down.

Ending on a brighter note, I think that this card is the most powerful card for draw power in the game. The potential of being able to draw five or more cards in one turn is too good to pass up on. The card’s only con is that it does rely on how many shields you have, so when you don’t have any, the card is pretty much useless

Constructed: 4.50/5.00 (Reverberate can be very rewarding when played promptly and can get you ahead in the game. But if your opponent gets to your shields early on, Reverberate can be dead in your hand.)

Limited: 2.50/5.00 (Reverberate can definitely be good in a limited format, but you’ll most likely only pull one and on turn six, you are more likely to turn to more aggressive options to win sooner rather than later.)

I hope everyone enjoys this review and I hope you pull as many of this card as possible! Until next time, play hard and have fun!
